THE AXE FALLS - MMD COMMITTEES DISSOLVED The entire Copperbelt Provincial Executive Committee has been dissolved with immediate effect. This has been done with the view of appointing an interim Committee, which will superintend over the reorganization of the party at district and constituency level. This reorganization will culminate into a provincial conference to be held within a specified time frame. The Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) of Western province has been given a month to ensure that all positions in the executive are filled. Thereafter the PEC will immediately embark on reorganizing the structures at district and constituency level. This objective is with a view towards holding a provincial conference in Western Province before the end of the first quarter in 2015. In conformity with the recommendations from the Provincial Executive Committee of Western Province, two District Executive Committees have immediately been dissolved in the province. These are Lukulu and Kaoma Districts. Additionally, the Mangango Constituency executive has also been dissolved. The PEC of Western province is therefore requested to immediately appoint an interim leadership in these affected areas. Of course this must be with consultation from the Secretariat. In North-Western Province, Zambezi District and its respective Constituency, Zambezi-West, have also been dissolved with immediate effect. In the Eastern Province, Vubwi District, with its respective Constituency Executive Committee has equally been dissolved. The Provincial Executive Committees of both the North-Western and Eastern Provinces are being urged to immediately appoint interim committees, some of which will emanate from the old committee themselves, as long as these are deemed to have been committed members of the previous committee. In Central Province, two districts have been dissolved these being Kabwe and Chisamba districts. The Province has been asked to equally expedite the repositioning of the party. Furthermore, we are in consultation with the leadership in Kapiri-Mposhi District on how best we can strengthen the executive committee and further encourage the existing leadership. In Luapula Province, Kawambwa District, alongside the executive committees of Pambashe, Kawambwa, and Mwansabombwe constituencies have equally been dissolved. We will be consulting with the provincial leadership on how quickly and who to appoint as the interim leadership so as to avoid creating a vacuum. The party has decided to reopen up the applications for consideration of candidates in the three nullified by elections to be held in Malambo, Petauke and Mulobezi. What this means is that we no longer have automatically adopted candidates for these seats. We have opened up the process and all who are interested can apply for consideration. All those who had previously been adopted, or had applied are welcome to make fresh applications. If any district will interfere in this process, stern disciplinary measures will be executed swiftly.
