THE BIANCHI DIP AND TWIRL! Republican Councilman Joe Bianchi is now a born again tax cutter after spending his entire time on the governing body raising property taxes and municipal spending for the last seven years! Mr. Bianchi, now a candidate for mayor against his friend Pete Massa, wants to recast himself as some fiscal conservative on the side of taxpayers! Nothing could be further from the truth North Arlington. Together with two council candidates who know less about municipal budgeting and finance then he does, Mr. Bianchi has approved every single bill list since assuming office in January of 2008, some seven years ago! Mr. Bianchi has failed to offer a single suggestion or proposal to cut this budget he seems to hate so much, so his new alibi is to blame the Democrats who offered a budget that would only raise property taxes 2 percent as mandated by the State of New Jersey. Bianchi, Pronti and Richard Hughes wouldnt support that proposal from the Democrats. Instead we saw Bianchi tell Mayor Massa he should have seconded the motion for the budget! Huh? Does this man who aspires to be mayor even understand how to run a council meeting? If Bianchi opposes this 2 percent increase, where would he cut spending further? Either you oppose the budget because its too high, or you would rather see even a higher rate hike proposed! Which is it Pal Joey? Why wont the bungling Bianchi tell us what he opposes specifically? At the council meeting Monday he claimed that he told his friend Pete Massa three months ago he was opposed to the budget. So as a member of the budget committee, why didnt he fix it? Duh! With friends like Joe Bianchi, who needs enemies? This is raw politics people. Bumbling Bianchi that has no message, just like his equally foolish running-mate Dan Pronti who also refuses to take part in the budget process, but throws proverbial rocks from the sidelines because he doesnt seem to understand the difference between politics and governance. This is why a debate will not take place. North Arlington Democrats relish in the opportunity to expose these sorely lacking challengers for what they truly are: political hypocrites who lack the resume or courage to put taxpayers first! Bianchi, Pronti and Cruz dont have a message North Arlington! They dont have any ideas or solutions for NA. They cling to a failed political past dying to get control of a community gone astray under that so-called leadership. Mayor Peter Massa needs council members willing to make tough choices and hard decisions. Governance is not easy and we cant afford to slip back to a failed past. Bianchis bumbling approach to governance would be laughable if not so tragic for homeowners! Call Borough Hall at 991-6060 and ask Bianchi why he and his GOP cronies Pronti and Hughes continue to bring chaos to the budget process which will in fact raise taxes if the budget is not passed soon?
