THE CHAIR - CLOSE UP! Comedy isn’t magic, it is actually a type of math. People think that it is something you have to be born with, not something you can learn. That’s not true at all... The truth is, Comedy is a logic, it is a code you set up with your audience, then alter or even break it. There lies the laugh. Enough of these in a row and the laughter will turn into applause. Finally, Comedy is “thought!” not a funny face or movement. We laugh at the “person”, more than the “action”. Finally, comedy has a truth. We have to believe that even the most insane or scene is believed by the character/s before the audience will believe it. In this regard, it could be said it is the highest form of acting.
