THE CONTEMPTUOUS SIR JOHN AND CO. I think its time I share with - TopicsExpress

THE CONTEMPTUOUS SIR JOHN AND CO. I think its time I share with my friends what I have been thinking about this case since it surfaced until today. For us the young ones, we are always admonished to emulate and learn from our elders and leaders. We are also advised to shun the company of those who can not control their tongues or talk a lot of nonsense. I am an NPP person but I distance myself entirely from the comments made by Sir John which landed him in this hot waters today. But for the mastery of the law, experience and and legal gymnastics displayed by the Hon. Ayekoi Otoo, Sir John and his friend would have been in jail by now. Though happy that he has been freed, I must admit I still have mixed feelings about him being freed only on 5000 ghana cedis. This amount is a drop in the ocean for someone like sir John who is suppose to be an example for us. However, to go to the extent of threatening the supreme court of Ghana with mayhem, fire and brimstone is not just reckless but totally unbecoming of an elder and a leader of one of the biggest political parties in Ghana. I believe Sir John was in possession of his mental faculties when he made such grave utterances which has the potential of turning this our homeland into chaos. And we are suppose to be learning from such a leader. Let me not forget that we have such "Sir Johns" in the other side of the political divide who spew out vertupuratives daily and instead of being called to order, they are rewarded with positions, ministerial appointments among others. But I believe such people should not be followed into the gutter they get into since we can stand the moral high ground which will help us win over the KING MAKER voters since the country is almost evenly divided into NPP and NDC. We now live in a country where Sir John and the other sides "Sir Johns" are being emulated by up and coming young politicians which will not augur well for the future of our dear nation Ghana. It is my humble submission therefore that, considering the gravity of Sir Johns action, utterances, and leadership position as well as being an old member of the bar, he had been let off too easily with the 5000 Ghana Cedis fine. But he should count his stars lucky and henceforth desist from such unguarded utterances for which he is well known for. I rest my case.
