THE DANGER OF IDEOLOGY: Ideology is the system of beliefs one embraces or believes in...or we can call, ones Worldview. Everyone in the world has a Worldview, regardless of belief both Christian and non Christian. It is the way we see things. When it comes to the place in the life of a believer that ideology becomes more important than what Gods word teaches, then the onset of deception is well entrenched. We must...at all costs remember not to allow our ideology, system of beliefs, or Worldview override or be more important than what Gods word teaches. This is quite common... much more so, than most people realize because sincere people are always emotionally affected. Now, any person worth his salt is not worth a plugged nickel unless he remains true to the Lords teachings. Recently, I saw someone whose enthusiasm for my friendship has languished because of my theological stand on Pentecostalism. This person is a Pentecostal, a good person, but is more emotionally involved in his beliefs than he is biblically oriented. At the time, I did not think much about it because rejection by others is commonplace when one stands for the truth. But later on, as I reflected on his attitude towards me, I realized it was all about the differences in our ideology. If ideology determines our care for one another, we are way off base. If a person believes something I do not believe, I have no problem with that but it is my responsibility to share the truth with them regardless of the loss of friendships...such as they are. I would rather lose friends and be faithful to God than have all the friends in the world and not warn people of what He has shared with me as the truth. Please read, Ezekiel 3:18-19
