THE Dr NAZEEFI YUNUS I KNOW... I deliberately choose the path - TopicsExpress

THE Dr NAZEEFI YUNUS I KNOW... I deliberately choose the path of silence in the arrest and investigation that followed over two weeks ago when Dr Nazeefi Yunus was arrested by men of the SSSin his residence within jos metropolis. No one could tell why the erudite and soft spoken Islamic scholar was arrested and detained for over two weeks. There were speculations at that time that the arrest could be linked with his most recent lecture he delivered at the central mosque in Jos.The lecture was however focused on the unity of Muslim ummah and the need for a peace and mutual co-existence between Muslims and non Muslims. And as such this possibility was quickly dispelled. But my personal opinion at that time was, something sinister was already breeding within the confines of the SSS fortress.I tried to look at a barage of possibilities why this perfect gentleman, a builder of bridges of peace, a scholar in the true sense of the word, a rigtheous Muslim in every ramification, a man who abhors violence and always preach the virtue of harmonious co-existence, would be arrested in the middle of the night with heavy armed security men.The following were my theories why he was arrested: 1.Did Dr Nazeefi Yunus travelled out of the country recently? If he did, where and who was his contact? 2.He worked for so many years with Almuntada Al-Islami, an Islamic organisation which funds Islamic Daawah and community programme which is based in middle east.So is the same organization flagged by Western intelligence agencies as a terrorist organization which tipped the SSS and Nazeefi was therefore pinned as running a terrorist cell in Nigeria? 3.Or for some unknown reasons something tipped the SSS that Dr Yunus had links with our home grown terrorist organization BH? And behold it turned out to be (3) that triggered the chain of events that culminated into the arrest of Dr Nazeefi Yunus. He was paraded yesterday with few 3 other suspects who allegedly claimed that Dr Yunus was the masrermind behind their radicalisation and motivated them into what they tagged as waging Jihad against the unislamic system of governance. That he is the spiritual figure of a BH cell in Kogi state. Dr Yunus was amidst tears as he spoke to journalist. That he had no ties to BH (for which I believe 100%) and the men in question, he said he had never had any dealings with them, and in his words,I recall one of the suspect was attending my preaching, and disappeared when he noticed I was preaching against BH.I was set up by the sect knowing fully well I was preaching against what they stand for It is at this juncture that I would say the SSS in my opinion is doing a good job by trialling the path of BH and all its sponsors. But it should do so within the confines of the law and should not always be in a haste to go public without a compelling evidence that is so incriminating. For all those who know Dr Yunus will clearly tell you he has always being a man who is outspoken against the BH insurgency. He is among the very few that choose the path of honour and righteousness to stand tall amongst their equals to say the unwanted killings and destruction of property by the notorious BH group is unislamic and also contravenes the spirit of natural justice. All his audio and video lectures are available for all those who cares to navigate into his thoughts and Islamic philosophy.I couldnt hold my tears when I saw Dr Nazeefi shading tears. We all know the modus operandi of these radicals and his body language and denial of the group in public domain is completely out of congruent with what is expected of BH leaders. My calls to the Muslim community and all opinion leaders is to brace up to this emerging threat. We must collective work together to see Dr Yunus exonerated from this allegations. It must be done in the most civilized way and in a manner that does not portray us as violent people. To Dr Nazeefi Yunus, I have this message for him to ponder over it Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possession and and in yourself:and yes shall certainly hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the book before you and from those who worship partners beside Allah. But if ye persevere patiently and guide against evil-then that indeed is a matter of great resolution. Imran 186 Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden of Bliss without such trials came to those who passed away before you? They encountered sufferings and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried when(will come) the help of Allah? Ah ! Verily the help of Allah is (always) near Baqarah 214 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying We believeand that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.Ankabut 2-3 Allah is surely with you Dr Nazeefi Yunus and he would surely vindicate you no matter how long it takes...The story of Prophet Yoosuf(pbuh) remains fresh in our minds
