THE EMPEROR MAY HAVE ANOINTED A CANDIDATE AFTER ALL I have it - TopicsExpress

THE EMPEROR MAY HAVE ANOINTED A CANDIDATE AFTER ALL I have it in good authority, from a reliable source close to the Governor of Rivers State, that Sen. Magnus Abe has been settled for to fly the Rivers State APC gubernatorial flag for the forthcoming election. This was made possible after the Governor had series of political meetings with his political think-tank to brainstorm on the chances of the partys candidates to win the election. However, in a meeting that lasted hours, several factors was explored and they agreed that Magnus stands a better chance not because hes better than Dakuku but on the basis of tribal affiliation, registered eligible voters from the areas where these candidates hails and the likely voting pattern of the people. Settling for Abe is not unconnected to the Ogoni Project 2015 where people from the ethnic Nationality firmly resolved to vote any Ogoni candidate irrespective of his party affiliation and political ideological leaning. However, the ogonis can be found in about four LGAs of the state: Khana, Gokana, Tai and Eleme* with an estimated registered voters of about 380, 000, unlike the Opobo/Nkoro axis that has about a little above 20, 000 registered voters. Consequently, the think tank was of the opinion that, if Chief Wike emerges as the PDPs candidate, with Magnus Abe, it would be a close contest, because Abe would likely secure about 85 - 90% valid vote cast from the Ogoni bloc in addition to protest-votes that would emanate from other LGAs who obviously is not happy with Wikes likely emergence on the platform of PDP...would likely do the magic for the party to continue occupying the Brick House beyond 2015. However, the reason adduced for dropping Dakuku is that the Kalabari bloc may not, for reasons not clearly stated, vote Dakuku a minority in the Ijaw ethnic nationality of Rivers state to emerge governor before them, more so, the registered eligible voters put together wouldnt match what the Ogoni can collectively muster and deliver to Abe. Finally, the report went further to state that Hon. Dakuku Peterside is not giving up on his ambition as he continue to lobby the delegates to consider him ahead of Senator Magnus Abe. * Eleme dont consider itself to be referred to as people from Ogoni.
