THE FOLLOWING IS AN OPINION BASED RANT: Jared Leto may be playing The Joker in Suicide Squad?!?!?! DC!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!?!?!? Lets go ahead and get Seth Rogan to play Boomerang, and Michael J. Fox to play King Shark while were at it!!! You already got Jesse Eisenberg for Lex Luthor!!! THIS MY FRIENDS IS WHY DC CAN NOT DO LIVE ACTION FILM IN THE 2000s!!!! DC has the most amazing animated films Ive ever seen in my life, and a lot of it has to do with voice casting. They cant cast live action for crap!!! Yeah, they get it right every once in awhile. I admit it. Cillian Murphy was great as Scarecrow, and Gary Oldman as Gordan is awesome, and as much as I hate to admit it Heath Ledger was a pretty good Joker. Cough Drops Bale was horrible as Batman, and what the hell was Sean Bane-ery?! Anne Hathaway and her caterpillars made me ill as Catwoman, though not as bad as Halle Berry. On the good, Michael Keaton was by far the best at both Batman AND Bruce Wayne. Michelle Pfeiffer was perfect (not gonna say Purrrfect) as Catwoman. Jack Nicholson was pretty good as Joker, but still not the way I personally see him, but close. Jack playing Heaths version would be perfect. I wont even open the can of worms with Forever and Batman & Robin. Then there was the absolutely tragic Superman Returns. Oh gods above how horrible. Man of Steel got it right for the most part. I like Henry Cavill as Superman, but the big fight at the end....I still cant watch it without getting a massive headache. Zod was great. Supes dads? No. Big stars dont ALWAYS make a better movie. OH HEY LOOK ITS 2 ROBIN HOODS!! Ugh. On the flip of that though, I have high hopes for Ben Affleck. Hes is a great actor, that got shafted with Daredevil. Even though, Im not understanding the hate on DD...Elektra...now thats different. This is his time to either shine or retire. Marvel. Dont screw up. Marvel animated films. Wow. Horrible voice acting, and the animation is sub-par at best. Now live action...well you cant click a comic page anywhere online that doesnt have a fan-boner over the next 6 years of DISNEY based Marvel flicks. Now this is where Im torn on Marvel movies. Disney is putting out pure gold. Both box office, and general audience enjoyment, that goes beyond comic book fandom. Seems the only turd in the punch bowl is Iron Man 3 so far. I honestly think if they waited a bit longer to release that, it would have done better, but Avengers was still way too fresh. On the flip side we have Fox with the X-Men series, and Fantastic Four series. I for one loved ALL of the X-Men movies, including Last Stand, BUT only for production value. Being a comic geek, I KNOW the story was wrong, and I see why its so hated. I enjoyed it, though it is my least favorite of the group. The thing is, they arent doing as well. Fox seems to be relying on fan hype, instead of power advertising like Disney has done. Fantastic Four...oh you poor soul. This is where casting has failed across all films. One person. Jessica Alba. Absolutely hot. NOT SUE STORM!!! Christ wagons... Appearances alone threw the character off. With the amazingly fake looking contacts to the bad wig/bleach job. And she was just boring as Sue. Really both films were just really boring. Now we have the reboots from Fox. I guess they are gonna beat the dead horses to a pulp, but so far not bad. X-Men First Class, and Days of Future Past were brilliant. And I really liked the firs Wolverine Origins, until the end. Oh but then it went bad. Wolverine 2 was OK at best. Soon we will have a reboot of Fantastic Four. This one Im not happy about. I think it will flop. I dont mind that Human Torch is now black. But now they are changing the story to Sue...who is supposed to be his sister...into an adopted sister. I dont get it. Why? Make Sue black! Make Johnny white! Dont mess up their back story that weirdly! Is it because there is a lack of black characters? Some of the best characters have been black! Bishop was badass in Days of Future Past and Falcon in Captain America Winter Soldier?! Stole the show! It just doesnt make sense to me, Now that gets to my next point. Casting actors for multiple characters in the same universe. Im OK with Ryan Reynolds playing Green Lantern and Deadpool. DC and Marvel. Different universes. But wait....he was also Cain in Blade Trinity. Same actor. Same Universe. ARGH!!! Chris Evans...Captain America, AND Human Torch....ARGH!!! Oh and he was Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim. I hate that. And Chris was really good as Human Torch, but cant come back for the reboot because of the Disney contract...ARGH!!!....OK to to finish off this extremely long rant that turned into something else than my original point....NO MORE WOLVERINE!!!!! DONE!!!! HUGH JACKMAN.....FIND ANOTHER ROLL!!!!! The only thing I want to see Wolverine in again is if they make a film of The Death Of Wolverine story line. I loved Wolverine as a kid, but man he got way over played, and hes played out. Its like listening to your favorite song over and over on repeat.
