THE LATEST MEDICAL REPORT ON WILMA. Ruth and I had the opportunity today to meet with the folks at the Breast Clinic here in Winston, and had their suspicion confirmed. She does have a malignant cancer in her right breast, but if there is any good news, it is the slow-growing type which I have been informed is the best kind to have. Meaning? Because it is growing so slowly, there is the distinct possibility she could outlive the disease and die of something else. Of course, she is completely in His hands, as all of us are. Where do we go from here? They are setting up an appointment for us with an oncologist to discuss available strategies for keeping her as pain-free as possible during this ordeal. They assure us there are procedures to make this happen. Thanks so much for all the love and prayers you have showered upon our little family. How grateful we are for each of you who have chosen to walk with us through this battle that is just beginning. Please stay with us. We need you more than we can tell you. As the treatment progresses we will try to send you periodic updates. We appreciate and love you, Ruth, Kim, Leonard, and all her grandkids.
