THE LEO OGOR SERIES: SEASON 6 (THE LEO OGOR YOU NEVER KNEW) APPOINTMENTS, EMPLOYMENT AND EMPOWERMENT FEDERAL APPOINTMENTS To ensure the presence of Isoko sons in federal board, agencies and ministry and to give the Isoko nation a sense of belongings at the national level, Hon. Leo Ogor influenced the appointment of two Isoko illustrious sons into federal establishment. Hon. M.O.C Eto, Federal Commissioner, National Complaints Commission representing Delta state and Dr. Paul Oweh, Commissioner, National Assembly Civil Service Commission amongst others Federal appointments which are the first of its kind Isoko nation, a minority within minorities is producing more than two Federal appointments to the envy of other ethnic nationalities. Hon Leo Ogor was also instrumental to the appointment of Erowah born Mr Ben Efeturi as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly. Presently, Oyibo Isoko is scheming for another Federal appointment for an illustrious Isoko son which will soon be announced. Its on record and an indisputable, irrefutable, undefeated, indiscutable, incontestable and unchallengeable fact that Isoko nation have not had it so good under any regime in term of Federal appointments/recognition which is one of the reasons Rt Hon Leo Ogor deserves re-election into the green chamber to represent Isoko nation. These federal appointments is large due to the perfect synergy between him and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan EMPLOYMENT Unemployment no doubt is one of the viruses eating deep into the fabric of the Nigeria state and Isoko is not an exception. In a bid to reduce employment amongst his constituents notably Isoko graduates, Hon. Ogor has successfully influenced the employment of over one hundred and fifty Isoko graduates into Federal Ministries, Para-Ministries, Parastatal, Commissions and Agencies some of which include Nigeria National Petroleum Commission(NNPC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS), Nigeria Sport Commission (NSC), Nigeria Police Force(NPF), Nigeria Custom Service (NCS), Nigeria Army, Nigeria Navy, Nigeria Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Nigeria Energy Commission(NEC), Nigeria Population Commission(NPC), Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NCDC), Nigeria Airspace Management Authority (NAMA), National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) amongst others too numerous to mention. Ogor also recently influenced the employment of 10 Isoko graduates into Nigeria Identity Management Commission, NIMC, in a recent employment by the agency. In recognition of his employment drive, Barr. Afahokor Danjuma Duncan, Administrator, Umeh Needs Road Forum while lamenting the death of Nigeria graduates who lost their lives during Nigeria Immigration Selection Test last year remarked, na the employment when Hon. Leo dey give people easily naim people dey die put so? EMPOWERMENT It’s on records that Hon Leo Ogor is a trailblazer and an idol in the area of youths empowerment. Hon. Ogor has empowered hundreds of his constituents in various disciplines. The empowerment which is an annual ‘festival’ has continued to lift Isoko people from the pang of poverty, idleness and unemployment. In the year 2014, Hon Leo Ogor empowered constituents with items worth millions of naira. Some of the items include over 100 tricycles, 350 sewing machine, hair dryers, generators and motorcycles. His empowerment drive has earned him a sobriquet amongst his constituents as “Mr. Empowerment. Little wonder the old and aged rally around him anytime he is at home. Every weekend the door to his country home at Ozoro is always thrown ajar. His country home always witness beehive of activities with people of different shades trooping in and out for one support or the other, and they never leave empty handed. Hon Leo Ogor was recently referred to as the political ‘Moses’ of Isoko nation on the account of his numerous empowerment drives. Due to his massive empowerment drives, Hon Leo Ogor was in May, 2014 recognized for Excellence in Grassroots Empowerment at the African Child Prize for Legislation awards at an impressive ceremony held at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotels & Towers, Abuja, an event which was attended by lot of dignitaries from different walks of life including Governors, Ministers, Commissioners, foreign Diplomats and other top government functionaries.
