~THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:~Pt.3 The Ninefold Fruit of The Spirit: We will continue with our lesson on The Fruit of The Spirit according to (Gal.5:22-26). Continuing with 3. Peace: from the Gr. (eirene) meaning, the state of quietness, rest, repose, harmony, order, and security in the midst of turmoil, in the midst of strife, and temptations. 4. Longsuffering: from the Gr. (makrothumia) meaning, patient endurance or maintaining patience while under pressure. To bear long with the frailties, offences, injuries, and provocations of others, without murmuring, repining, or resentment. Just as we see in (1Cor.13:4-7) Love suffers LONG, and is kind; does not ENVY, does not VAUNT or proudfully brag on ones worth and attainments. The Believer does not or should not behave unseemly, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; rejoices not in union with iniquity, but rejoices in union with TRUTH; V.7. Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures or stands up under the pressure of all things. Now, thats LONGSUFFERING. We will continue on to 5.Gentleness: from the Gr. (chrestotes) meaning, a disposition to BE GENTLE, soft-spoken, kind, even-tempered, CULTURED, and REFINED in character and conduct. According to (2Tim.2:24-26) The servant of The Lord MUST NOT strive; from the Gr.(machomai) meaning, to fight; contend in battle; quarrel; wrangle; dispute, but BE gentle unto all mankind, apt to TEACH, or capable of teaching, PATIENT; from the Gr. (anexikokos) enduring evil, only here. V.25. In meekness, instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of The Truth; v.26. And that they may RECOVER: from the Gr.(ananepoho) meaning, to become sober again, or recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. Here it seems to be that the opposers of Truth are taken captive by the devil to do his will. TO BE CONTINUED:
