THE OBSTACLES TO A PALESTINIAN STATE EXPLAINED.... 1) If you start with the premise that Israel has no right to exist...Then no discussion is possible about any peace. 2) Palestinians who have now grown into millions want the right of return but Jews created the state of Israel, as a refuge from persecution and do not want to accept that because they will be overwhelmed, bar perhaps for a few token families but compensation is possible. 3) If you deny a link between their religion and the land of Israel and its history, then no talks are possible either... 4) Because of that history Jews think that Jerusalem must stay whole, therefore they think that they cannot give East Jerusalem back to the Palestinians but perhaps, a joint capital could be a possibility... 5) Israel wants secure borders and does not want to give back the Golan Heights to Syria (If there is still s Syria) because it overlooks their plains and were used to bombard them. 6) For the same reason they do not want to give back the sliver of Lebanese territory they acquired. 7) They cannot allow a State of Palestine to have an army and invite other armies to the new Palestinian State, as this will jeopardize the security of Israel in the future...Government change etc... 8) There is the problem of the settlement too...At least some would need to be dismantled. 9) Israel thinks it certainly cannot have a terrorist organization (as classified, even by most Arab states), being part of the government of a new Palestinian state. 10) UN guarantees are useless to both sides.... THESE ARE THE HURDLES: So it is not as easy as deciding to just create a new Palestinian state........These are not my thoughts or opinions but just the facts as they are. Which ever side you are on, I hope you understand the problems better now.
