THE PHLRC HISTORY MARCH 08, 2013 ADMIN NO COMMENTS HISTORY Sometime in April 2009, Ka. Even Demata formed a group called Pinoy Hot Line Clan (PHLC). Besides PHLC, he built another organization—Pinoy Hot Line Civic Organization (PHLCO). Soon after, Demata organized another riders group named Pinoy Hot Line Riders Club (PHLRC). Citing irresponsibility of its officers, Demata then dissolved the PHLC after the devastation of Typhoon Ondoy on September 29, 2009. Few PHLC loyal members were transferred to PHLCO. In December 2009, Demata re-established the PHLRC under the administration of Ka. Fredelito Modesto, former president. During their monthly meeting, March 14, 2010, Demata convened with its new members for the first time. PHLRC was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 7th day of June 2010 with Registration Number CN201008552. OBJECTIVES One of its objectives is to enlighten motorcycle riders pertaining to safety driving to avoid accidents. Records of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Land Transportation Office (LTO) showed that accidents involving motorcycles are leading to their records. As of January 2011, over 400 motorcycle accidents were recorded—most of riders who died or in critical condition were under the influence of liquor. Most of the victims were not wearing helmets. ROAD TRIP Every month, PHLRC conducts out-of-town-trip to remote areas. Among the areas reached by PHLRC were Nasugbu and Lian in Batangas, Infanta and Real in Quezon Province, Pilar and Mariveles in Bataan, Llanera in Nueva Ecija, Sta. Maria in Bulacan, amongst others. In its history, the first farthest place reached by the PHLRC was the town of Sogod, Southern Leyte. Called as "Leyte Invasion" with the theme "Sugod sa Sogod," the group travelled an about 1,054 kilometers from Manila. The trip was led by three former members and current members Ka. Alejandro Parrilla Jr. The travel mission was completed in just two days and two nights—December 26-28, 2010. Following its success, Leyte Team was given the highest awards—"Achievement Award" and "Accomplishment Award" as recognitions for their loyalty, bravery and courage. The second farthest place reached by PHLRC was Northern Luzon. Called “The Northern Luzon Round Trip,” the group completed their travel in two days and two nights (December 25-28, 2011). The team roamed around to towns like Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte at Aparri in Cagayan. (Details will be posted soon) MOTORCADES The biggest motorcade launched by PHLRC was on February 12, 2012. 130 riders and 45 backriders supported the event. The said motorcade started from National Press Club (NPC) in Magallanes Drive, Intramuros, Manila and route to Quezon City Memorial Circle and vice versa as part of celebration of 20th of Remate newspaper to NPC.
