THE POWER OF HUMILITY Matthew 18:4 In this world today, humility is perceived as a weakness; it is often condemned as a taboo. Too many people reject the spirit of meekness, because they have become too familiar with the spirit of rebellion - in the sense that, they think honour and dignity can only be found in hostility. But, let the truth be told; being humble is more powerful than being hostile. Jesus Christ had the entire universe in the palm of His hands, but He chose to take off His crown and laid His life down for us. When God created us, He gave us the ability to choose – that is what makes us phenomenal beings. When people conduct themselves with kindness, it means they have chosen to do so. The woman at the well, the Shunamite woman, Rahab, Abigail, David, Dorcas, Abraham, Mary Magdalene became more than conquerors because they exhibited the fruits of the Spirit. They are majestic pillars of the Faith, because they choice to apply the principles of Christ. When someone is kind to you, it does not mean that the individual is an ant that you can step on. To use someone as an excuse to cover your slothfulness and to lift yourself up is shameful indeed. In fact, it makes you a disgrace to the Kingdom of God. To think that a person is soft and stupid as a result of their courtesy towards you rather makes you the weaker vessel, because it means you lack understanding and you lack maturity.
