THE POWER OF SIN IS BROKEN (part, 2) Right focusing will change you from glory to glory! I want to say this, that the principle we learn here is a principle we can apply for all the promises we have in Christ like, healing, a worried mind, relationship, finances etc , etc. IT IS POSSIBLE TO LIVE A LIFE IN VICTORY ! In our last study we saw that today in Christ we are a new creation we are no longer “in the flesh” but “in the Spirit” ( Rom ,8:8-9) We also understand from a number of scriptures that we are “dead from the law” from which sin got its strength or power ( force, ability, strength “dunamis”) (1Cor ,15:56) And that sin without the law is dead! (Rom,7:8) Please read the context here, then you will be flooded with light! We have crucified the flesh with its lusts and desires (Gal, 5:24) The Bible is even more clear and goes so far it says: We are dead to the old life, and it is Christ who lives in us! (Gal,2:20) We can conclude that the flesh and the law is not a problem anymore UNLESS we put our focus there. That is so important to emphasize. New Creation focus, In Christ focus ,”Spirit focus” Grace focus, New covenant focus. With other words put your mind on things above (Col,3:1-2 ) Since we are raised from the death of sin, and are made to live anew, the great object of our motivation and focus should be the heavenly world, Gods Word ,our New Life the new creation and His Spirit, God’s Grace in Christ Jesus and to discover more of Him, Jesus who is our Life. Today in the new creation it is very crucial from what source we are living, or from which covenant I draw my strength and focus from. We are going to be change and conformed according to the source we focus upon. When we focus on the old life and our behavior and short comings, sins and failures then those very things will try to revive and pop up again and again!By wrong focus sin will try to controll you again. We could take “rabbit trails” here in all directions because here is so much revelations and nuggets. If you have time and interest please read 2 Cor,3 and 4 about how the new life of Jesus will be manifesting in our mortal bodies by right focus on the New Covenant of the Spirit and inward realities. (All the Bible verses I use here ought to be read in its context to get the full understanding of what I say) Today if you focus and put your mind on the “things above” on the Word and the Spirit instead of the letter and the flesh (outward things) you are going to see life flowing, you will see spiritual growth and The fruit of Righteousness you hardly could dream about! A great man of God said: “Right believing will produce right living” What do we believe? Do we put our faith in circumstances around us or in the word of God? It is when we focus on our behavior and try right living we surely will fail, because in this life and in this body we will once in a while fall short anyway. This is exactly what the law did, its focus was on right behavior dos and don’ts. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life.( 2Cor,3:6) More of this next time. Until then, stay blessed!
