THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST How do I know that Jesus Christ lives? I spoke to Jesus Christ just NOW and am busy talking to Jesus Christ as I write this! I don’t have twenty first century verses to quote you. I can only tell you about MY experience with Jesus Christ. I’m not writing about the first century Jesus of traditional Christianity I make a distinction between a first century Jesus and Jesus Christ. I’m writing about the pre-existing LOGOS of God. ______ If the resurrection of Jesus cannot be believed except by assenting to the fantastic descriptions included in the Gospels, then Christianity is doomed. For that view of resurrection is not believable, and if that is all there is, then Christianity, which depends upon the truth and authenticity of Jesus resurrection, also is not believable. ~ ~ Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded in Athens by Zeno of Citium (334 – 262 BC), a Greek thinker from Citium, Cyprus. About three hundred years before the birth of Jesus, Stoic Philosophers taught that, at the heart of all things was the universal principle, the “artistic fire” or Word known as LOGOS, which was closely tied to fate. It existed at the beginning of the universe, and it would bring all things back together in the end, perfecting all through the LOGOS. Stoic Greeks evolved words like epos, onoma, and rhema to refer to words. Logos came to mean something more than a word, something like reason, thought, reflection. This word later came in derivatives like logic and all areas of disciplined study whose name ends in -ology. Logos can now be rendered as MEANING as found in all disciplines using the logic ending with -ology. To say LOGOS (meaning) was in the beginning, as in the prologue to John (1:1), is to say that the drift towards meaning has been there from the beginning. Every person may share in the enlightening truth that MEANING (logos) brings into the universe it has made. LOGOS is thus the Divine Spark that births ALL THAT IS! LOGOS is not only inherent in nature, it resides in us as human beings. We all have a portion of LOGOS given to us and it helps us understand our world. LOGOS allows the divine to interact with the non-divine, the spirit with matter. We find fulfillment when merge the LOGOS of the Universe with the LOGOS that is deep within us. Jewish thinking, Stoic Philosophy and Platonic Philosophical ideas have now merged. Jewish thinking taught us that Creation happened by means of God uttering his LOGOS. This LOGOS came from God, and since it is God’s LOGOS, in a sense it is God herself. The LOGOS of God speaks through us as us. TO BE HUMAN IS TO BE ACTIVELY ENGAGED WITH LOGOS! SOCIAL NETWORKS (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whattsup, etc) ARE RESURRECTING LOGOS TO HEIGHTS UNKNOWN BEFORE!!! – WATCH THIS SPACE AS LOGOS MANIFESTS THROUGH THE DIGITAL AGE!
