THE SECRET IN YOU (Sermon by Bishop D. Johnson -Bethel) Colossians 1: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Lots of people try to live the Christian life but find it boring & frustrated. Why? Pens without ink do not write. Cars without fuel do not run. So Christianity without Christ, the in dwelling life of Christ in us , does not work. So what is the secret- the mystery that makes Christianity work? What makes it possible for every believer to prosper? Christ himself living His life, through me, the hope of glory. Remember, Gods righteousness is a gift, so trust God for His righteousness. If you are trusting Christ, know today you are blameless, holy and righteous by Faith. It takes Faith to believe this truth but it does not take faith to believe you are a sinner. This gift of Righteousness and forgiveness represents the beginning of something awesome He is working in our lives to fulfill His original purpose. He created us in His image so we could contain Him, be the physical vessel where He would live within us so His priesthood, divine attributes, will be manifested through us. Adam chose separation rather than Union by choosing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This caused Gods plan to be delayed but not abandoned and that is why Jesus came to give us another opportunity to eat of the tree of Life. Jesus has completely reversed it on the cross. God designed us so that He could live in us. John 14: 16 - 20 (Pause and meditate on this daily - be conscious in that union.) I Corinthians 6: 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (He has infused his life into me) Galatians 2:20 KJV [20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 1 John 4:4 KJV [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. John 15: 1 A picture of union. The life of the vine is in the branch. To bear fruit, my life should be in you. Jesus came to restore Gods original purposes. He gave His life for me so that He may give His Life to me and live His life through me. Our part is to believe and keep presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice so He could live in us and manifest His qualities through us. The greatest blessing is that Christ is inside of us. As a Christian is Christ inside of you? Christ can change you from the inside, but you have to allow Him inside of you. Only then can He change you and work through you. Nothing is more yours until it gets inside of you. The day Jesus relocated in me, my life sprung and I have become a wealthy place. ( when Discovery channel moved their headquarters into Silver Spring, the city sprung and became wealthy) Phillipans 4: 13 Confess this and declare it. Christ can do all things through me despite of my weaknesses. This is the Day The Lord has made. Be glad and rejoice in it
