THE SECRET OF YOUR STRENGTH Daniel 6:10 – “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” We are living in an impatient generation. Everything in this world demands for quick action. We are in a generation without faith and without hope, a generation that has forgotten much about God Almighty. In reading the passage above, we understand that Daniel knew early enough in life how much he needed God. His consistency and faithfulness are a challenge to all Christians, especially to the busy elites of the ‘www dot com’ generation. In a situation where everything around him seemed to suggest that he had to abandon what he believed in and follow man’s majority, he instead saw it as an opportunity to honour God before men. He had an independent mind and he didn’t follow man’s majority but rather God’s authority. The Bible explains that the secret of Daniel’s strength was his constancy in prayer. In other words, he was constant in his faith. His affection was regular. His love was stable. He was constant in character, constant in nature, constant in attitude. Because he kept the secret of his strength, he was able to overcome the trials and temptations that surrounded him. Daniel remembered the secret of his strength and was able to overcome. You too, in times of hardship and weakness, remember the secret of your strength and God Almighty would begin to take you through whatever life brings. PRAYER: “Oh Lord, give me the grace to be conscious of Your presence at all times and to be constant in good habits, in Jesus’ name”.
