THE STORY GOES ON: Top News: My Powermac G4 is booting into Mac OS 9.2.2 without any problems with the Rage 128 Pro/dvi! It also boots into Mac OS X 10.4.11 with this graphics card...BUT! It does boot with my geforce 4mx from a mdd dp867 into: mac os 9.0, 9.1, 9.2.1, mac os x BUT NOT INTO 9.2.2! what the actual firetruck? why does a newer graphics card support 9.0-9.2.1 and mac os x but not 9.2.2? the story from scratch: Hello Dudes, i got a pretty stiffy problem with my g4/450 AGP. Ive been installing 3hdds so far, replacing the zip drive. I replaced the DVD Drive with a DVD R/RW Drive and placed a 2x usb 1.1 pci card in the mac. Currently is Mac OS X 10.4.11 installed and i wanted to install 9.2.2 as well. And here it starts: I started with the software restore cd (mac os 9.0) and installed it. booted fine. After this, i installed the 9.1 patch for german systems. booted fine. You might know it, next comes the 9.2 patch. All fine. Aaaaand now, the 9.2.2 patch, should wo.... freezes at boot screen. i dont know why, but it stays at the boot screen with the small progress bar, after about 10%. it boots, shows the welcome mask, then short time the mouse pointer, switches to the welcome mask with progress bar - boom, freeze. Is there any firmware update or stuff like that, which is needed to be installed between 9.0-9.2? Why is the machine booting fine in 9.0-9.2 and dies at 9.2.2? Any suggestions?
