THE TIME OF THE END Page 2 The time of the end began in 1798 immediately after the period of 1260 years of papal supremacy and the end of the persecution of Christians. A series of spectacular events in the natural world announced that the time of the end had arrived. For example, the Lisbon earthquake of 1755, the darkening of the sun and moon on May 19, 1780. Sister E.G. White is born in 1827 as the prophetess of the time of the end. Then more important events occur. In November 13, 1833 the stars fell from heaven (meteorites shower), and in 1844 the purification of the heavenly sanctuary began. Christ passes from the holy place to the most holy place in the heavenly sanctuary. The Seventh Day Adventist Church is organized in 1863 and it extends to all the other continents. The First World War is fought from 1914 – 18, Sister E.G. White dies in 1915, followed by the Second World War from 1939 – 45. Two hundred and fifteen years have passed since 1798. We are 215 years into the Time of the End. “After 1844 there are no established dates for the fulfillment of Bible prophecies, no more prophetic periods defined in term of years. What we must realize is that we are very close to the end of the Time of Grace. PCF, page 13. Soon it will be the end of time. No human being knows God’s calendar nor can we find out. No human being can establish exact dates for prophetic events after 1844, for the simple reason that there are no time prophecies that will allow us to apply mathematical calculations. God decided not to reveal to us that portion of universal history because He wishes to save us. But most of all, He did it so we can prepare and be ready. Very soon the remaining final events will occur: spiritual reform, the sealing, the latter rain, the loud cry, the Gospel ends, the Shaking, the early time of trouble, Sunday legislation, leaving the great cities, the four angels release the winds, the end of the time of grace. Within a few more years (immediately after Sunday Law is imposed) persecution will begin, the time of Trouble, the seven last plagues, Jacob’s trouble, the death decree, the leaving of small towns, and the final liberation. Then there will be half a hour of silence in heaven and Christ will return for the second time initiating the millennium. Meanwhile, we should be ready. The second coming initiates the millennium and the millennium extends into eternity. The history of the earth is only a parenthesis between eternity and eternity. The redeemed in heaven will then have the privilege to receive all the explanation about the plan of salvation that so much intrigued them while living on earth. They will have all of eternity to study and understand the entire program from the beginning to the end. The Great Prophecies of the Bible 1.
