THE TRUE MISSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. THE SON OF - TopicsExpress

THE TRUE MISSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. THE SON OF MAN Our discussion in the last section ended with the unanswered question as to whether the Son of Man and the Comforter are one and the same person since they were both linked to the Last Judgement by Christ. But before we go in detail into this issue, it is necessary, in order not to further complicate matters, first to address the question whether Christ, the Son of God, is also the Son of Man as has been assumed by many for several years now. Why would Christ call Himself the Son of God and at the same time, the Son of Man? This is a question that majority of people have failed to ask themselves or those who have fed them with the interpretation. Is God, then, also equivalent to Man? We all know that God cannot be Man at one and the same time as God. Then why do we continue to accept the interpretation that the Son of God is the same as the Son of Man? We shall now examine the Bible to see if this assumption is correct. We shall, in doing this, only concentrate on drawing the attention of the listener to Bible passages which prove that the two are completely different personalities. First of all, we like to draw the listeners attention to the fact that most of the passages in which Christ referred to the Son of Man are connected with discussions on the world judgement or the Last Judgement. Now, the first hint given by Christ that the two are different personalities is to be found in John3:11-13. It is as follows: 11. Verily, verily. I say unto thee, we speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13. And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven. In verse 11, Christ says about Himself almost the same thing that John the Baptist said about Him which we cited in the previous section. John said about Christ , ...what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth. so despite the fact that the people did not believe what Christ told them most of the time, as He Himself has confirmed in this passage, He still continued to reveal more and more of the Truths of Life to them. He volunteered to give them information concerning heaven even though they had refused to believe His information on matters of this earth. And the information concerning heaven which He then revealed is in verse 13. To enable us to properly understand the statement, we shall recast the passage but replacing the word even with that is. as earlier pointed out in the preceding section of this lecture. So we have verse 13 again: 13. And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, that is , the Son of Man which is in heaven. The information revealed here is threefold. The first is that the Son of Man was in heaven as at the time that Christ was on earth. The second is that the Son of Man had already been on earth and returned to heaven at some time before Christ spoke these words. The third is that the heaven referred to by Christ in this statement is the Abode of God which is not accessible to any other except those who are specifically Part of God. The Son of Man, being the third Personality of the Trinity, belongs in this category. The second evidence revealing that the two personalities, the Son of God and the Son of Man are different can be found in Revelations, chapter1, verses 4 and 5: 4. JOHN to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5. And from Jesus Christ,... John is delivering a message of Grace and peace from him which is, and which was, and which is to come;... And (also) from Jesus Christ... What is immediately clear here is that about nine personalities have been identified in the quoted passage. Apart from the seven Spirits before the throne, there is also Jesus Christ as well as he which is, and which was, and which is to come; are clearly two different personalities. Jesus Christ, we already know about. We now need to identify the other personality , that is, he which is, and which was, and which is to come. We are told that He is on a throne because we are also told that there are seven Spirits...before his throne. So who is He? He identified Himself as He spoke to John. Let us now read verses 8 to 19 of the same chapter of Revelations to find out who He is and who John identified Him to be. The passage is as follows: 8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. 9. I, John, who, also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the Kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10. I was in the Spirit on the Lords day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet. 11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and what thou seest, write it in a book, and send it unto the seven churches, which are in Asia, unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. 12. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks: 13. And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15. And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 16. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strenght. 17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last. 18. I am he that liveth and was dead: and behold. I am alive for evermore. Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 19. Write the things which thou hast seen and the things which shall be hereafter. The Son of Man! He revealed Himself to John who described Him for the whole of mankind. The listener should note well that John said in verse 8: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord. Which is and which was, and which is to come. The Almighty. So He which is, and which was, and which is to come identified Himself as Alpha and Omega and John called Him the Almighty. The listener may begin to think that this is God the Father. But God the Father cannot be seen by anyone as Christ Himself has said in the book of John, chapter 5, verse 3: And the Father Himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. We shall later confirm, even from the book of Revelations, that it is not God the Father Who spoke to John. John himself, in verses 12 and 13 identified the One Who spoke to him as the Son of Man: And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks: and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with... and he went on to give a description of Him. But as the Son of Man continues to address John, giving him messages addressed to the angels of the different churches, it becomes clear that He is not God the Father as some may want to persist in thinking. In chapter 3, verses 5 and 6, He said the following: 5. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Here we find Him making reference to His Father. This is the confirmation we seek that it is not God the Father Who spoke to John. In verse 6, He identifies Himself also as the Spirit. So out of His mouth, with John as witness, we are also told that the Son of Man is also the Spirit. Which Spirit? The Spirit of Truth, of course. The Holy Spirit, the Comforter, whose coming Christ Himself has predicted. Christ identified Him in the different predictions either as the Son of Man or as the Spirit of Truth or as the Holy Spirit or as the Comforter. They are all one and same Personality; the third Person of the Holy Trinity, forming the Trinity together with God the Father and God the Son, Jesus Christ. He Himself predicts His own coming as we see in the same chapter 3, verses 11 to 13: 11. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 12. Him that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. 13. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Here again is furthet confirmation that it is not God the Father who speaks as the Speaker referred to God the Father as my God, and again identified Himself as the Spirit. Since some are likely to advance the argument that in the Christian book of Catechism, it is said that God is Spirit, one should hasten to point out here that this is an erroneous statement. While it is true that God has no shape or form by which He can be identified, a spirit on the other hand, when it can be seen, always has the human form when fully developed. It is likely that we shall get sufficient proof that God is not Spirit if we refer to the book of Genesis in the Bible, chapter 1, verse 2. It is as follows: 2. And the earth was without form, and void: and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The expression the Spirit of God in the passage quoted above will be completely meaningless if God is Spirit. It is precisely because God is not Spirit that there can be an expression like the Spirit of God and this in none other than the Holy Spirit or the Son of Man. Now back to our quotation about Him predicting His own coming, verse 11 of the cited passage from chapter 3 of the book of Revelations states this clearly: Behold. I come quickly: So it is the Son of Man, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of God Who comes to judge the world. But as Christ predicted in the quoted passages from the book of John, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit will guide mankind into all truth. For the sake of those who may have doubts as to how this will come about, I quote the following statement of Christ from the book of Matthew chapter 24, verses 13 and 14: 13. But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. 14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. So the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, the Son of Man will guide mankind into all Truth by making the Gospel of the Kingdom available in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come, for this gospel of the kingdom is the instrument by which the world is judged! The process of this world judgement, like every manifestation of the Will of God, is a simple and natural one. The Comforter, the Son of Man, proclaims the gospel of the kingdom to all the nations of the world. Mankind will then judge themselves individually, through this gospel, by the attitude each one develops towards it on coming in contact with it. The contents of this gospel, in fulfilment of Christs earlier promises, have the following objectives: (a) To remind mankind of the things Christ had once taught them. (b) To correct all the distortions and wrong interpretations which mankind have introduced into the teachings of Christ over the centuries. (c) To reveal to mankind those Truths of life which Christ had to withhold from them because they could not bear them yet. to use Christs own words. Included in these are the full description of Creation and the full explanations of the mechanisms of the working of the Will of God and how mankind are to proceed in order to adjust themselves to this Will; which is an important steps each one must take who wishes to pass in the judgement. The one whose inner faculties are still functioning properly, that is, whose lamp has not gone out (to adopt the words of the parable of the ten virgins), immediately recognises the voice which speaks to him in this gospel and promptly takes steps to grasp the lifeline offered to him for his salvation. The one, on the other hand, whose inner faculties have ceased to function, that is, whose lamp has gone out, or who has buried his talent, fails to be touched inwardly by this gospel, as also happened to many when Christ taught on earth. Such a one then passes by this lifeline offered him without making any effort to grasp it to save himself. This way each one passes judgement on himself in the simplest and most natural way. Many a one may even go out of his way to actively work against this Gospel by taking steps to dissuade his fellow human beings from availing themselves of this immense help offered them directly from their Creator. Such a person not only passes judgement on himself thereby but also goes further to reveal as one already serving the Darkness, for it is the Darkness alone which is working actively for the destruction of mankind in the world of matter. And the one who tries to dissuade his fellow human beings from utilizing the help offered them from Above thereby helps the Darkness, consciously or unconsciously, to achieve its goal, apart from having himself already become its victim. The teaching of the Comforter, the Son of Man is called the Gospel of the Kingdom by Christ because it has as one of its goals, or should we say as its ultimate goal the ESTABLISHMENT OF THE KINGDOM of God on earth, the promised Millennium, the one thousand years during which peace will reign on earth following the chaining of Lucifer, as promised in the book of Revelations. Towards the establishment of this kingdom, it is necessary for the Son of Man first to sort mankind into two groups: namely those who can still be saved and those who have no hope of being saved. This sorting is accomplished by mankind themselves through their attitude to His teaching. In all simplicity and naturalness, this is also the dreaded world judgement or Last Judgement. And in Christs own words, ...then shall the end come. The end only for those who can no longer be saved, who, by their own attitudes, have revealed this much about themselves. Just as it happened in Sodom and Gomorrah, life went on as usual for the inhabitants of the two cities until Lot and his two daughters were taken out of Sodom. Only then did the fire and brimstone come pouring down on the cities. Until then those already marked down for destruction suspected nothing. In the case of the world judgement, the consequences of being found unworthy of salvation are much more severe than what the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah experienced. A person found unworthy of salvation in the Judgement is also denied further existence in Creation. Not only can he no longer continue to live on earth but he is also denied existence in any other realm of Creation. It is then only a matter of time before he is confronted with this dreaded fact that he is marked down for destruction in the impending disintegration of matter. This is the dreadful eternal damnation or casting out into outer darkness, to use the words of the parable of the talent. But for those who have revealed themselves as still having the possibility of being saved, it will be the beginning of the Millennium during which time they will experience the kingdom of God on earth as established by the promised Son of Man. This period will also be for them a period of schooling when they are permitted to learn how they must live if they wish to serve their Creator and live according to His Will. This way they are thus helped to prepare themselves for eternal life in the Realm of the Spirits. To usher in the Millenniun will be the great purification of the earth, a period during which all that exists on earth which does not accord with the Will of God will be destroyed. These will be the signs of the end which Christ predicted. These are already manifesting in bits and pieces in different parts of the earth. Brought about by the climatic changes, floods, typhoons, earthquakes, hurricanes and other catastrophes, natural or man-made, are already wreaking havoc in various parts of the earth as the beginning of this purification. These should serve as warning signs for mankind to make haste and take steps to save themselves before it is too late as in the case of the foolish virgins. The possibility for this still exists for him who is in earnest about his salvation. That the Son of Man will bring a gospel simultaneously with the judgement when he comes is also confirmed in the revelation of John, chapter14, verses 6 and 7, which is as follows: 6. And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people. 7. Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgement is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Paul, the Apostle, had in 1. Corinthians, chapter 13, verse 10, referred to the same gospel as that which is perfect. It is then understandable that it is also said to be everlasting. What is perfect can no longer undergo any change. Any change from perfection can only lead to imperfection because that which is perfect cannot be improved upon. And this is why it is everlasting. The quoted passage, from the book of Revelations, also confirms that the Gospel is the Instrument of the Last Judgement. Hence the emphasis which Christ laid, in the parable of the ten virgins, on the necessity for man to avail himself of the extension of knowledge which He promised that the Son of Man will bring as the gospel of the kingdom or the everlasting gospel because only those human beings who avail themselves of it have the possibility of recognising the Son of Man when He comes, and also being aware of the time of commencement of the Last Judgement. THE TRUE SACRIFICE There was indeed a sacrifice attached to the Mission of the Son of God, Jesus, intended for the salvation of humanity on earth. The sacrifice was, however, not made to God, but was made by God. God made the sacrifice, out of love for mankind, by severing a Part of Himself, a Part of His Love, and incarnating It in a body of flesh and blood on earth as Jesus of Nazareth. This Part was also the Word-Incarnate. This expression Word-Incarnate already gives a hint of the true Mission of Christ on earth. Having come to the earth as the Word of God become flesh, He came to give Himself (as the Word) to mankind. That is why He told them: eat my flesh and drink my blood meaning absorb the Word of God that I am and it be a part of you. He came at the time He did to bring help in the Word as an urgent necessity to save humanity on earth from imminent destruction, which threatened them from their self-created Darkness. This, however, was not the first sacrifice which God had to make for the sake of man. The first sacrifice was made by God in order that Creation could come into existence as a home and field of activity for the Spiritual (generally referred to in the Bible as Man). This story has already been narrated in the section explaining the parable of the prodigal son. God made the first sacrifice for the sake of man so that man (the Spiritual) could come into existence. Before Creation came into existence as a home and field of activity for man(the Spiritual), the Spiritual existed in the Divine sphere as part of the residues of radiations (this is explained more clearly in the Grail Message) which could not take on form because they could not bear the intensity of the direct Radiation of God. However, the longing of the Spiritual to become conscious rose to the steps of the Throne of God as a prayer and this prayer was granted when God issued the decree, let there be light. This decree necessitated the first sacrifice which God made for the sake of man (the Spiritual). This sacrifice entailed his having to sever a Part of Himself, a Part of His Will, and placing this severed Part at the boundary of the Divine so that It could radiate Light into the void. Each severed Part is regarded in the Divine Sphere as a Son. Thus the Part severed and placed at the boundary of the Divine so that, by radiating Light into the void, Ceation could come into existence as a home and field of activity for the Spiritual (man), is the Son of God Who came into existence in order that man could come into existence or the Son of God Who came into existence for the sake of man or, in short, the Son of Man. He thus is the first to come into existence in Creation, the home of the Spiritual, and is thus the first Spirit or the Spirit of God (being a Part of, or Son of God). As the first Spirit, He is also the Alpha; and should it ever occur that Creation ceases to exist together with the creatures in it, then He will be the only one left in existence at the boundary of the Divine, thus the last in existence outside the Divine Sphere, or the Omega. This makes Him the first and the last, thus Alpha and Omega. Since the Truth is inseparable from God and is one with Him, the Spirit of God is also called the Spirit of Truth; and since only God is holy, then the Spirit of God is also called the Holy Spirit. Thus the Trinity came about as a consequence of the two major sacrifices which God made for the sake of man.
