THE TRUTH ANDA ONLY TRUTH… How time flies? That is usual repartee when describing an occasion that expands for a couple of years now. I have been very active on social media for years now and been very still on the fiery political hostilities in Anda. Regardless of this political bickering, I persistently noting significant changes of my town. My last visit was last week. And apart from reuniting with my family, it also snapped my distrusts on the one-sided social media. Growing up in Anda is like growing up with Mayor Paul Amper. Yes, he’s very kind, and charismatic leader but also dubbed as a “traditional politician”. Although, he’s not that eloquent or lucid compared to our existing Mayor who happened to be another Amper kin, I still appreciated his sincerity and his long desire to shift Anda from one of the most deprived town to a progressive municipality. Some of our fellow Andahanons could guarantee his accomplishments but maybe because during that time, there were no Facebook, Twitter, Website, Instragram, Cable TV, and other inexpensive multi-media gallery, all of his efforts were not publicized to his rivals. And when the celebrated victory of Mayor Dodong Amper took place, I was very excited on their mind-blogging plans for face-lifting the town of Anda. And now let’s fast forward…I really value on how Mayor Dodong Amper laid his plans for tourism development. He has been aggressively selling Anda in different tourism fairs and events including his attendance in Germany and Sandugo Festival. However, it is undeniable that it carted a huge amount of appropriation. But how’s the return of investment? Do we have to spend so much when in fact our tourist sites are mostly improvised or undeveloped? Are tourism-related policies already in place for the possible influx of tourists? Or are these policies disseminated to make it sustainable? Maybe this administration has overlooked other important areas to develop its vision, philosophy, plans and programs. It is important to monitor the success or adverse effects of this tourism, promotions and programs. Now, I understand why our former Mayor and now our Vice-Mayor Inday Simacio carefully followed and guided by their Tourism Masterplan in which I used as my reference during my thesis requirement. I was really impressed by the plan that would direct the path for Anda’s tourism industry. As I am aware of and based from my reliable sources, Vice Mayor Inday during her period as the Mayor of Anda, also participated fairs and events. She also invited media and TV and movie personalities in Anda but not that aggressive and expensive because she knew to balance the state of the municipality. Anda town was even featured in GMA, GMA NEWS TV, ABS-CBN, STUDIO 23, leading newspapers, and travel magazines including Lonely Planet and even trended at the YAHOO with the help of the tourism stakeholders of Anda with low-cost budget. We have even hosted and staged an international event-triathlon-the first in the Central Visayas region which has truly amazingly promoted the town of Anda to the world. So I guess we can effectively market our town without spending thousands of pesos but spend more on infrastructures and tourism product development. And we should all be rooted by the success of Mayor Inday’s leadership style. Now, here come the consultants…Does our Mayor still need consultants? I challenge our Mayor to step up from being so dependent with his consultants. I think he is better than that and I’m pretty sure he has great plans than his consultants. Naa pud bay consultants ang ubang lungsod? Correct me if I’m wrong that the LGU- ANDA is spending more than thirty five thousand pesos (PHP35,000.00) monthly for these municipal cronies. Mr. Jun Ayag! I heard so much about him but I never get the chance to know him personally. I think he has accomplished in his life as he always projecting on his Facebook Account. But my question is, Nganu wala man siya kuhaa sa Provincial Government or sa City of Tagbilaran or sa Lungsod sa Mabini? Then, another shameful staff of Mayor, Malyn who is acting like the “First Lady of Anda”. She is very conceited, big-headed and narcissistic. She doesn’t know where to stand and I guess she doesn’t know the ethics. I think she is a great manifestation of the new employee of Anda. How appalling for the Mayor Dodong’s Administration. And now your administration is proposing a Municipal Administrator, which I believe became a trending topic to the social media. I think it’s a wrong move to create an item which is not a mandatory position and considering the economic capacity of the LGU. The creation paved the way for the abolition of other important items like from the Agriculture Department (not so sure on the position) which I firmly believe a potent item for the Agriculture department. Mayor Dodong, are you aware of the progress? Or possibly this is another strategy to cover up your absences/nonexistence to the basic needs of our constituents? Or busy lang pod atong halangdon Mayor sa iyang negosyo sa Manila? Can we request him to be transparent on his businesses? Or shall we request for a Lifestyle check kay dato man daw kaayo ni si Mayor Dodong ug halos tinuig na mopalit ug bag-o ug mamahalong sakyanan? Unsa man diay ni kadato atong Mayor? Back to main issue. The propose plan to create the Municipal Administrator plano napod ni Mr. Makinano? I think there are more important items that you have to consider kaysa Municipal Administrator. Are you sure that by creating a Municipal Administrator well eventually make Anda a City? I know there are few Municipalities in Bohol that has Municipal Administrator but these are 1st and 2nd class municipalities that have the capacity to appropriate its budgetary requirements. For the fifth class municipality, I think there are more top priorities than creating a Municipal Administrator which is very obvious another political attraction. Abi ba kog daan na matuwid as you wishes to have a new image and good Branding of governance in Anda. But you failed us Mayor. Is this Political Accommodation or again another playback plan of the frustrated MM (Murag Mayor) Enie Makinano. NEXT ISSUE. FIRE TRUCK. I am very happy that finally, Anda has its own fire truck. But then I was saddened that his administration printed their party’s tug line “LARGA ANDA”. Another EPAL move. I have also learned that the previous administration initially planned this acquisition but due to budgetary constraints, it was not realized then. Now I understood that the most of the projects and activities that have implemented and will be implemented were formulated during Simacio’s administration including the Circumferential Road or road concreting from Suba-Badiang and Barangay Projects. So a due acknowledgement must also be given to Vice Mayor Inday Simacio. Dili lang nga angkonon ang tanan ni Mayor Dodong nga nakabag-o sa Anda kay kung unsay nakit-an ninyo karon sa Anda mga paningkamot na sa administration ni VM Inday sauna, dili hambugera, arrogante or self-centered. Now, I have observed that this Administration always demanded for infamous credit but the truth is most of these efforts were painstakingly initiated by Vice Mayor Inday Simacio. I know Mr. Paul Amper is pleased now that after a very long time of constantly requesting for a concreting project for Suba-Badiang road with the late Governor Erico Aumentado and Congressman Art Yap which was already integrated on the General Appropriations Act (GAA) since 2011, now the long wait is over and it will be fulfilled next year. These facts have been unveiled by people who are working in Anda and former SB Officials. NEW AMBULANCE. It has already been said by Congressman Art Yap during his Foundation Day speech that the new ambulance was made possible through the efforts of Vice Mayor Inday Simacio. Vice Mayor Simacio. No show for Vice Mayor Simacio? According to the social media, Vice Mayor is always absent during sessions, and generally the Sangguniang Bayan is not performing well. So in order to amplify the issue, I personally probed these allegations. I visited the tourism center where the secluded SB session hall was located and finally met her secretary. “The cat is now out of the bag”. I have learned that all absences of VM Simacio were all an official business not to mention attending hearings and meetings. So there’s no truth that she is neglecting her duty. It just happens that our VM blasted cases which I believed part of the political demolition tactics. I truly admire her force that she has never weakened her determination to prove her innocence. I fervently wish that our Vice Mayor will positively beat all these challenges because my support is still with her. ANDAHANONS must be UNITED. As they say, “ Ang politikanhong kusog ug galamhan sa gobyerno anaa sa nagkahiusang katawhan”. Again, Mayor Dodong Amper must accelerate from being so contingent from his consultants and prove his worth. Otherwise, he will be trapped by his own snare. Let Truth comes out…ANDA ONLY TRUTH.
