THE WILES OF THE DEVIL If you are a true child of God you will - TopicsExpress

THE WILES OF THE DEVIL If you are a true child of God you will always be coming up against the wiles and tricks of the devil. He wants us to succumb to fear and anxiety; he wants us to doubt God, and resort to the flesh instead of waiting on the Spirit. Let me explain. I notice in my office, sometimes there are tensions. Situations are created where it seems I am headed for a confrontation or conflict with my superiors. The reason? I stand for the truth and will not compromise. Of course, in certain things I am flexible; I am willing to adjust. But in matters of principle, no compromise, no watering down of ones position. Sometimes situations are created by my subordinates and by bureaucratic procedures and delays which result in a real mess. Then we have to face pressures from above and sometimes even contempt cases from the courts. Yesterday there were two issues in office which worried me. I prayed, Lord, please sort these things out. I cant break my head worrying like this. Forgive me. I trust you to get me out of this confrontation. The Lord is so gracious. By 4.30 pm both issues were resolved; it was as if the storm that threatened me had weakened and disappeared from my coast. The Lord does these things so wonderfully, so smoothly. We want Him to intervene in some spectacular manner, but He does things so quietly. He comes like the dew; His footsteps cant be seen (Psalm 77). He is such a good God. I am still learning - learning faith. Oh, to rest in the arms of the Lord. He cares so much for us. Yes, sometimes He allows the devil to test us (remember Job!); but He is there to see that the trial is not unbearable (1 Cor 10.13). The devil keeps gunning for us, especially when we take a large step of obedience (and spiritual advance). He doesnt like us to go forward spiritually. So he attacks - with these awful situations, these complications, these impending confrontations. They come like a cloud (remember the saying: Trouble comes in twos and threes); and if we hold on to the Lord by faith, they soon disappear. I need that quiet steady unshakeable faith. Help me, Lord. Bless You! JK
