THE Willie Obiano Campaign Forum has dismissed Governor Rochas - TopicsExpress

THE Willie Obiano Campaign Forum has dismissed Governor Rochas Okorocha’s trumped relocation to Anambra State to campaign for APC candidate, Senator Chris Ngige, in the November 16 gubernatorial election in Anambra State as an exercise in futility, assuring the Imo State governor that Anambra, an APGA stronghold, would be a clean sweep for Chief Willie Obiano, the APGA flagbearer. The National Co-ordinator of the Campaign Forum, Owelle Onyeka Mbaso dismissed Okorocha as a political lightweight whose threats do not amount to more than an empty rhetoric. “I laughed when I read Okorocha’s comment about his planned relocation to Awka. But what people ought to ask is: what is Okorocha’s political weight even in Imo State where he is the governor? “He was a political wanderer for 15 years until our great party rescued him from the wilderness and we welcome his visit to take his candidate back to the wilderness. APGA will defeat APC and other parties in the coming election. Ungrateful Okorocha will lose now and in 2015,” he said. Mbaso assured Ndi Anambra not to lose sleep over Okorocha’s comment, as they were the typical rants of a man in political delirium. According to him, Anambra State is too enlightened to be led by the noose by anybody. “Governor Okorocha is well known for his unguarded statements that almost got him into trouble when he once addressed former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as though they were mates. Besides, we cannot support a party that encourages the deportation of Ndigbo from Lagos. APGA is a political party that has the best manifesto for good governance,” he declared. In his speech, the Chairman of the Group, Engr. Henry Onyekumnaru vowed that after eight glorious years of Governor Peter Obi’s transformational leadership, Anambra State would not be allowed to return to political undertakers again. According to him, “Chief Willie Obiano is the most qualified candidate in the race. He has the professional competence to run Anambra. He is educationally sound and his years as an executive director in the banking sector have exposed him to the highest levels of management. We need a man who has demonstrable competence in managing human and natural resources and Obiano is the man for that.” Meanwhile, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in upcoming gubernatorial election, Chief Willie Obiano has declared his readiness to take the state to a new level of growth and development when voted into office on November 16. He said he would continue on the fundamentals built by the current APGA government, complete all outstanding projects and programmes and ensure their timely commissioning. “We shall not have any abandoned projects in Anambra State. Government is a continuum and the APGA doctrine of governance recognizes and encourages the cultivation of certain positive attitudes to leadership. We shall help entrench the current culture of purposeful governance in Anambra State.”
