THEME: REPAIRING THE IMPAIRED Reading: Luke 17:19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. There is a difference between being healed and being made whole. Ten lepers were healed, but only one out of the ten was made whole. Making whole means, adding the missing part to make a complete unit. It is one thing to have your hand cut off and heal; it is another very different thing for the hand to be restored to its original shape, place, functions and figure after being cut off. One characteristic of leprosy was that it used to make body parts fall off around the joints. Leprosy is the physical representation of sin. And any time God wanted to reveal to the whole world physically that he had severed his relationship with someone, He used leprosy. What is sin? Many Christians think they know what sin is; but if you listen to them describing it, you will discover that what they know is not actually sin. It is either something that may lead to sin, or something that is born of sin. The simplest definition of sin I can come up with is, Being out of the will of God or falling short of the glory of God. There is always the will of God for each and everyone of us, every time you miss it you sin!! That is why the bible says, Whoever knows that which is right to do, and does it not, sins. And that is why the Bible also says that, It is IMPOSSIBLE for the children of God to sin! Have you ever wondered why God would say such a dangerous statement, while we know we sin every minute? Yet the same Bible say, If anybody says, Im not a sinner he/she lies and makes God a liar ?? It is because, as many as are led of the Spirit of God are the children of God. And it is IMPOSSIBLE to be led of the Spirit of God and miss His will!! But now, we, (on our own without God) if we say we cant miss the will of God (sin) we lie and make God a liar! In one sentence, the three verses put together mean, saying I dont need Gods help to know and do His will is a lie and making God a liar. But when you become a child of God it is IMPOSSIBLE to sin (miss His will), because His children are led of His Spirit. And you cant be led by His Spirit and miss His will! (Sorry those are about three sentences and I said, in one sentence Heheheee). Any ways, the good thing is that leprosy (sin) need not necessarily be a terminal disease. I mean you can be healed; more so, if you meet Jesus. But I was not to talk about the healing today, I wanted to ho a level higher: repairing the impaired. So many get healed (forgiven of their sins) but very few are made whole (set free indeed). If you were hurt as a child and you got a scar, the scar means you were healed, but every time you see it, it reminds you of that day and in many cases the pain you suffered. It means, you were forgiven (healed), but youre still tethered to the day (not made whole). Now, quickly, this is how to be made whole: return back and give glory to God for healing you. I promise you that if you go back to give God glory for healing you, He will make you whole; He will repair the impaired parts. Some people repent every hour, for dis they know and sins they dont know; of commission and of ommission, but very few go back to say, Thanks to Jesus, Im now sin-free. No wonder tomorrow youll find them repenting of the same sin. Because being healed does not guarantee you wont get dick again, it is being made whole that closes that door permanently! I no longer beg God to forgive my sins, I cannot sin, it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to sin. Why because I am led of His Holy Spirit. So, instead, every time I stand before God, I thank Him and give Him glory that I am sin-free. And there and then, He tells me, Nesh, your faith has made you whole! Jesus is asking, dudes, didnt I heal so many? Why do they keep coming to beg to be healed? The healed should not come to beg to be healed! They are already healed, what else is there to be healed? The healed should only come to give glory to God! And as they do so, they are made whole, the scars disappear, fingers that fell off due to leprosy are restored, the impaired are repaired! I know Im messing up your theology, because, your pastor asks you to repent every Sunday, of the sins you know and sins you dont know (Im repeating this because its funny), but Im telling you that if and when you are healed, from there, even if the devil tells you, you are leprous, tell him it is IMPOSSIBLE! And quickly give glory to God for healing you, you will be made whole! The devil will always remind and show you a scar ... A missing finger ... A missing toe ... But tell him it is IMPOSSIBLE, And quickly give glory to God, God will always repair the impaired. Why did Jesus say your faith has made you whole? Because this freedom can only be accessed by faith. You wash in the blood once and for all. Jesus blood is not a swimming pool, in which you enter every time you feel hot or the need to relax!! It washes once, and you need from then henceforth to believe by faith that it did its job perfectly with no need of repeating the same job over and over again!! All you need is to give glory for the work of the blood and be made whole. Lets pray: Father, we thank you for the blood of Jesus. It washes white as snow.
