THEME: THERE IS A CAUSE. .For everything that happens on this planet earth, there is a cause – it can be either good or bad. • In your life nothing happens by chance, there is a cause.- when you were not a Christian and when you became a Christian. • Some of the causes are either physical or spiritual. Some may be our own doings or the doings of others • Christians are to identify happenings in their lives that are caused by their own actions and inactions and try to overcome those actions. • Is there anything happening in your life that you have still not identify the cause? Or is there something that has already happened, either good or bad that you have still not known the cause? PRESENTATION . THE DEFEAT OF ISREALITES BIGGEST ENEMY – GOLIATH (1 SAMUEL 17:29-30) • Davis’s father, Jesse sent him to give some food to his brothers at the war front. Upon the arrival, he saw Goliath talking against God and Israel and wanted to know much about the issue (who can kill him) • When the David’s brother saw him talking to people they became angry for David was not in good terms with his brothers. Verse 28 • For this, David made the comment in Verse 29, “is there not a cause” – there is a cause for his brothers refusal to allow him (David) at the war front . THE BIRTH OF A DELIVERER – MOSES (EXODUS 2:6 – 10) - The Birth of Moses faced the full exposure of the rigid law of Pharaoh which could caused the instant death of Moses. - The baby ended up into the hands of the wicked law makers. - Is there not a cause why God did not allow Moses to die? – on hands of the Egyptians nurses, on the stormy water or even in the house of Pharaoh? – there is cause . THE DEFEAT OF ISREALITES BY THE PHILISTINES - The Death of almost 34,000. First war 4,000 people lost their lives and second recordes 30,000 people and in addition the high priest of Isreal, losing his life and this could only be blamed on the two sons of Eli – Hophini and Phinehas APPLICATION • Anything that happens has a cause, there was a cause why David was sent to that Battle field at that particular moment by God’s purpose • The defeat of the Isrealites by the Philistines has the cause • The was even a cause why Daniel was sent into the Lion’s den • There was even a cause why Shadrack, Meshach and Adnego were sent into the blazing furnice • There was a cause why Jesus came into the world and died. • God too has a cause and plan for your life that is why you are still alive and not dead by now • There is a cause why you are still a Christian and not in any other religion • There is a cause why you are marrying that woman or man. • There is a cause why you are still at where you are now. • There is a cause why you are not in University but in that School. • There is even a cause a why you did not embark on that journey. • There may be a cause for your failure or difficulties or hardship you are still going through in life. Sit down, identify the cause and pray about it • Remember in crises. God is using it to prepare you for a better job and that may be the cause of your happiness and success in life CONCLUSION “There is no smoke without fire” pray and seek God’s direction to grant you a good cause to follow. In the midst of challenges in life, may His cause be accomplished in our lives Amen
