THIS IS HEART BREAKING, SORRY TO POST AGAIN!!! But I have just had this message sent to me,..... Hi Corrina - just trying to support a family in crisis at the moment and thought Id give you the details in case you could think of anything that might help. Im a parent support worker and the parent is single with 3 children under 6, girl 5 boy 4 boy 6 and she is pregnant due to have a baby girl in 3 weeks. She asked me to visit yesterday and told me that she isnt coping financially and has had her purse stolen after withdrawing all her money from her bank account that morning. She has no Christmas presents, food or anything to buy new sheets or clothing for the children. She is behind on her rent and worried that soon, they will be made homeless. She has hardly any family support. The most worrying thing is that she wanted me to help her arrange to get her baby adopted when it is born as she says she cant cope with the children already here and cant bring another child into the situation. She doesnt want to let the child go, she just cant work out how shes going to manage it. Ive notified childrens social care and so for longer term, welfare issues etc, they will work with the family. In terms of right now, I am picking her up a food parcel from the Salvation Army on Monday and were making her a Christmas present sack for the children but obviously these things arent going to go very far! If you have any spare bits of things that have been donated or have any other ideas, Id be so grateful. Thanks xx.
