THIS IS WHAT FLEX NEWSPAPER HAD TO SAY. Lessons From Ebo Whyte`s Productions: Why You Should Attend Roverman`s Events!!! Until one decides to be part of Uncle Ebo Whyte`s theatrical exploits at the National theatre and some selected venues in the regions, reports you will be reading and feed back you will be getting from the media might sound very doubtful. For the first time, Flex newspaper reporters were at the National Theatre last Saturday during the 8pm session of Men run: Women cry, and we are glad to be filing this report for your reading pleasure. Aside being there as media people who were invited for coverage, we learnt some lessons which are not common with the numerous events we have attended over the past years. We are enumerating them here for you, as it might entice you one day to be part of their showings. Though we might not be detailed in our approach because of space, we only hope and wish you learn from these lessons as well. TIME CONSCIOUSNESS: In Flex newspaper, we have had issues with many events which start and end late with no hope of event organizers changing from their old bad ways. Once at Roverman`s Productions event, it was a new feeling as the 8pm publicized time never missed even a minute in “Ghana” to commence. Of course, if the event starts on time, then definitely it will end on time and we feel event organizers in Ghana should take a cue from what was exhibited at the National theatre last weekend. ORDERLINESS: The word order has never been used effectively before like what we experienced last Saturday and when we say order, we mean orderliness from entrance to exit. For the first time, we never came across heavy muscle men at the entries but lanky looking handsome men and beautiful single ladies who were in charge of the gates, yet there were no skirmishes like its noted with the macho men at gates. Sitting arrangement was done in a way that brought comfort to every patron at the event and we are sure people had their monies worth. RESPECT AND SECURITY FOR PATRONS: We are highlighting some points here because most of them were first seen by some of us. Obviously being a threatre act, one would expect all lights to go off and it was refreshing to know that ushers in the auditorium provided flashlights anytime they saw a patron walking around the aisle. We call this respect and security because what it means is that they have considered and protected people with bad eye sight. Our only concern was the security guys who were to prevent people from recording activities on the night. One of such guys had a frowned face throughout the show, but we think he could have done his work without being scary and his approach to such people was somehow: any way!!! QUALITY CONTENT: Yes, one could not ask for more because you will be satisfied like never before. Looking at trends that Uncle Ebo`s plots have been taking over the years, it is obvious that the man has marriage and relationship at heart, as he always tries to correct negative lifestyles between couples and people in relationship. Your `s truly was there with his wife and they learnt some additional lessons away from their counseling session. CHARITABLE GESTURES: The habit of giving started right at the entrance of the event as every patron was given a chance to taste some ice cream upon entry. When we thought that was all, the man himself Uncle Ebo Whyte mounted the stage and again those with “pink sheets” were given more “evidence” of what a dash should be like. At least every body went home with a full bouquet of smiles and something in hand to show that “yeah, I was there some”. SPONSORS RECOGNITION: Upon a second thought, it is now clear why the people at Roverman get all the necessary sponsorship for their events within and outside the capital city. They gave adequate recognition to the people and institutions who sponsored their events and what we experienced at the National theatre was worth writing about. Every company boss at the venue who could sponsor the event missed out big time as beneficiary companies were pampered for sponsoring “Men Run, Women Cry”. GETTING YOUR MONIES WORTH: If all events in our industry will provide satisfaction like Roverman`s productions did last weekend which was witnessed by first timers like us, never would we have an event ground which can contain some particular events in this country. We wish we will all learn from this and emulate this production house` efforts to raise the bar of Ghana`s entertainment industry. Acting and delivery were on point as the characters proved that they are not just trying their hands on something but rather, what they were doing was their profession. Well, we can`t say all so just be part of the next event and experience what we are putting across yourself if you can. See you when you get there!!! Samuel A. Baah
