THIS POST WILL PROBALBLY BE OFFENSIVE. So let me get this straight... People are calling the release of the video showing Michael Brown strong arm robbing (stealing) from a store a character smear. Really? It sure is strange to me how no one making speeches seems to be saying that had Michael Brown not committed the crime that day there would be no video to smear him with. Lets keep it real. Michael Brown in that store was just another black male being a stupid, thug ass niggah and even if thats not who he was .... the video HE CHOSE TO STAR IN says differently. In that store he was feeding the sterotype of the typical thuggish black male.... And him being dead doesnt change that. This may be harsh but it needs to be said and I am saying it because I, as a black male, am sick of people trying to make heroes out of zeroes just because something tragic happened to them. I want my daughters to see Michael Brown as a thug who, had he lived, would not have been worth their time of day. Why? Because he starred in a surveillance video that proved it. But on the other hand I also want Michael Brown to be an example to them (as black women) of how some white cops have a tendency to see black skin and deem the bearer as something less than human. Now before you call me an insensitive, bastard, sellout .... listen to this.... I believe Michael Brown was murdered by that police officer. I believe the video was released in poor taste and bad timing. I also believe it was released when and how it was to lessen peoples empathy for Brown as a murder victim... But. I also know Michael Brown gave them plenty of material to work with by his actions in that store. I say that because just like I want to teach my daughters to be careful and mindful in any interaction with police I also want them to do the right thing and always work for or pay for what they want ... and never, ever steal! Because if they do ... they are being typical niggahs!!! Thug or not ... Michael Brown didnt deserve to be executed in cold blood and his murderer should be put away for life ..... But .... since we are all so concerned about messaging, lets not pretend this was some poor kid who had just bought skittles and iced tea before the confrontation started. Minutes before his death, Michael Brown was pushing a man around and stealing from his store .... that is what thugs do .... and now we are supposed to think he was simply walking down the street being a model citizen when the mean ole po po decided to hastle him? Cmon black folks .... we know damn good and well the thug niggah in that store is the same one that was walking his ass in the street being an utter dickhead and thats why he (most likely along with he and his friends appearance, attitude and thuggish ass bravado) got the cops attention. Personally, I dont believe the cop saw two black kids innocently walking home and just decided to pick on them but (and this is important) I do believe the fact they were black lessened the value of their lives in that officers mind as the confrontation escalated. I think that cop felt like he was executing an animal and not someones child. Why? His nigger skin and his thuggish appearance made him seem less of a human and unfortunately, in the eyes of people like the store owner, his actions in that store made him seem a little less deserving of fair treatment. Heres the facts .... Thats how alot of people think about the sterotypical black male ---- including alot of us black folks. We tend to think they (them thug ass niggahs) just dont f***ing act like normal humans. They may be black but we feel they are an embarrassment to those of us blacks who work our asses off for a living, take care of our kids, treat our families and people right and try to always do the right thing. And although this sounds cruel it is plain truth for those who will admit it .... most people tend not to weap over the murder of a thug as we would an innocent child gunned down in her own front yard by a drive by shooter. In other words, the video worked perfectly because it did lessen some of the sensitivity to Michael Browns killing. Why? Well first of all he made it and secondly because we all have seen on the 6 oclock news that thugs usually end up in prison or dying in harsh ways. So in the grand scheme of things .... Michael Browns murder was just more status quo but its now on tv 24/7 because the shooter was white with a badge as opposed to being black with a red or blue bandana tied around his face. Whatever the cops reasoning was that day, it is clear he went way too far in practically every way possible. In other words, that cop was being a thug as well and no matter who he may really be .... he will always be thought of as a nigger hating, racist bastard who gunned down an unarmed black kid for no reason. So what do we have? Simply put.....Two people who were being complete assholes and unfortunately and sadly, one of them is dead. Was it murder? Seems like it. Was it racially motivated or at least predicated? Probably. Will it happen again? Of course. My message to my 3 precious daughters? I pray to God something like this would never happen to you but if it does, let how you carried yourself in life represent something to be proud of ..... and dont do things to assassinate your own character .... like strong arm robbing a convenience store. There are lessons to be learned on both sides.
