THIS kind of stuff is exactly what gets lazy and ignorant People believing in silver-bullet patri-nut mythology. This was posted a little awhile ago, and it REALLY has gotten me pissed off. In my opinion, the guys posting this are not actually trying to be bad guys, but they ARE being completely sloppy and misleading in what they are putting out there. I choose to try and blame it on total ignorance or self-justification than actual malice on their part. But that does not make it any less dangerous to the neophytes and the unwary. . My posted comment on this post is below. Please understand that I am NOT trying to start a personal oneupmanship contest with any of these guys, but I got involved in this to help people, not try and make myself look intelligent in the eyes of others. . If you fail to properly research your sources and use the proper context for EACH of them as required, you WILL get you head handed to you in court and in any other proceedings involving them. . DONT EVER post this kind of badly researched and totally out-of-context crap on my wall unless it is to properly debunk it for those that dont know any better. THIS is the subject matter to which that specific definition applies: . 28 U.S. Code Chapter 176 - FEDERAL DEBT COLLECTION PROCEDURE . law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/28/part-VI/chapter-176 . It is NOT the all-inclusive and all-exclusive definition for the term United States. Especially considering that the definition of this phrase changes in virtually every US Code and every chapter in those codes to designate what that particular set of statutory enactments applies to. . I have found at least 26 different definitions for this term over the years, and it is ALWAYS subject matter specific in the particular code. . Here is what this chapter (Chapter 176) actually encompasses as to what it applies to: . law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/28/3001 . . THIS is the kind of patri-nut crap that I warn people about every day, because IT GETS PEOPLE HURT LEGALLY when they try to argue it OUT OF CONTEXT to the statutory provisions to which it applies. . If you are trying to say that this definition has a purpose OTHER than what it is used for in the statutes, then PROVE IT! And also, inform those reading it about the context in which you are trying to assert and prove that it applies! . . People, keep doing and believing this shit at your own risk, then, when you get stepped on like a cockroach, remember who got you to place yourself under the shoe and who tried to keep you out from under it! . .
