THOT 330, WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT GOD THINKS ABOUT YOU? That is an important question because whatever it is that will be HOW you approach Him, and how you deal with the people around you! John 1:29, The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 3:30, He must increase, but I must decrease. Did the blood of the Lamb really take away the sin of the world? YES! Then why do many Christians act as though it wasn’t enough and continue to believe God is withholding his blessing because of their sin? If a Christian is continually conscious of sin, then they really don’t understand the grace of their salvation through Christ Jesus. That certainly doesn’t mean that they are not saved, but it certainly means that they are not enjoying it as God means for them to! GOD IS NOT IMPUTING, OR LAYING SIN TO THE ACOUNT OF BELIEVERS? 2 Corinthians 5:19, To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation,” (emphasis mine). Sin consciousness has become a part of the Christian’s thinking! Understand that the world system doesn’t follow the way of GRACE. Your boss didn’t hire you by grace and promise you your job no matter what you do; they expect certain things from you as their employee in order to keep your POSITION with them. And in marriage, husbands and wives don’t always love each other unconditionally, as God does us. (It’s a strange thing that his love for us AS SINNERS is unconditional, COME AS YOU ARE, BUT when we become children it becomes CONDITIONAL! DOES GOD LOVE THE SINNER MORE THAN HIS CHILDREN?) Even in most Christian families, children are either rewarded or punished based on their actions, behavior. In this world almost everything is based on our performance, and because it is, it always forces us to focus on our weaknesses. That WORKS mentality then spills over into religion where we’re taught to focus on our sin. Now, where God is concerned, it’s just the opposite. Since the cross sin isn’t even an issue with God as far as our sonship is concerned. The reason for that is that our sin is not being imputed, or charged, to our account! It’s being charged to Jesus’ account, and HE HAS ALREADY PAID THE BILL!!!!! Hebrews 9:11-12,“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us,” (emphasis is mine). The redemption that Christ has given to us doesn’t just last until we sin, but is ETERNAL, based on his finished work that can NEVER BE UNDONE!! If every Christian could see, and embrace that truth it would be a different world! Did Jesus just really enter in once? I mean really, do you really believe that? Do you know what the word “ONCE” means in the Greek? IT MEANS “ONCE!” It means he doesn’t do it over and over again. Every time you sin, the Lord doesn’t have to Wait until you repent and then get that sin under the blood FOR YOU TO BE FORGIVEN! That is the way that it was under law NOT GRACE! UNLESS THE CROSS MADE NO DIFFERENCE! GOD FORBID! Unless His blood is no better than that of the bulls and goats! GOD FORBID! Most Christians have been taught [I was one of those teachers] that when you’re born again, your sins are forgiven up to that point. Then, every time you sin AFTER THAT, you’ve got to run to the Lord with that sin and confess and repent, or you could be lost on your way to hell! Or, some believe that you won’t be lost but until you confess and repent God will not fellowship with you, and he certainly wouldn’t answer your prayers. If, per chance, that were true, then everyone would be on their way to hell! There isn’t a person on this earth who doesn’t have either a KNOWN or an UNKNOWN UNCONFESSED SIN!!!!!! Now that way of thinking would be true IF God worked as did the world system! Or, if sin just meant the loss of relationship with God and unanswered prayers, then God wouldn’t have ONE SINGLE person who would qualify to receive an answer to prayer or fellowship with Him. That type of teaching says that God loves us and sacrificed His Son, Jesus, for our salvation, to TAKE AWAY OUR SINS, and then says in the same sentence that he is still judging us for sin. SOMETHING IS AMISS! Hebrews 9: 13-15,“For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance,” (emphasis mine). IT IS NOT GOD WHO IS CONDEMNING US WHEN WE SIN; IT’S OUR OWN CONSCIENCE, Because it hasn’t been purged with the truth of what Jesus HAS DONE WITH SIN!!!!! Because we don’t preach hard on that truth we allow Satan to condemn us and destroy our faith and confidence in God by reminding us of our sins, of the things that we aren’t doing [which under law is NEVER ENOUGH!] that we don’t deserve God’s blessing. God isn’t giving US what WE deserve; He is giving US what Jesus deserves! Hallelujah! God help us when we believe that preaching hard on sins, and bringing them to memory for confession blesses the heart of GOD who gave his Son to TAKE THEM AWAY! That kind of preaching does have someone’s blessing on it but it’s not the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Lamb of God paid for sin ONE TIME, past, present, and future. How can that be? I don’t know exactly how he could have done that, but I KNOW that he did, and I’ll tell you this in closing, and I quote from a brother in Christ, “Jesus only died one time for our sins two thousand years ago, so you better hope He can forgive your sins before you commit them.” Think about it. God bless you and yours. Bill, the man who Jesus loves! “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11. 8/16/13.
