THREE FANTASY-TIC WOMEN AND THE DOCTOR WHO LOST HIS MIND ( A short story) Two beautiful women who were also friends gave birth to identical twins each, and they were discussing their children.The discussion went like this. The first woman: My elder one resembles the younger one more than the younger one resembles the elder.... The second: O really? How strange ! Mine are totally the opposite. My younger one resembles the elder one more than the elder one resembles the younger. A third lady , who was listening to the conversation standing by, intervened innocently- as women always do: You know it is not considered auspicious for the elder one to resemble the younger one. But its okay if the younger one resembles the elder. But how do you know?, asked other two, almost as simultaneously as they had given birth to a pair twins each.. The third woman smiled. I had quadruplets. The first resembled the third but the third resembled the fourth and the fourth resembled the second..But there was complete confusion because the second resembled no one while the first, the third and the fourth all resembled him. Besides, they are all very mischievous, they keep confusing me by pretending to be one another. But how do you know they are pretending to be one another and are not actually one another .....r..r..r ..I mean how do you know who is doing what and it is he and not the other pretending to be him while he himself is mixed up with others? A doctor who overheard this last bit of the conversation fell in the corridor with a loud, totally unconscious. When he came to, he was in the ICU. He was heard mumbling, A is equal to B and C is equal to A and B is equal to D while D is not equal to B..and B which is equal to A but is not equal C which is equal to D and A..but A and D are not equal to C and all are equal to some but some are nt equal to all..if all are equal to all others while all others are not equal to them, even though all are equal individually to A and C..... he went on endlessly, bis specs back on, while he was making some calculation with his finger tips The three women, who couldnt figure out why the doctor had suffered a stroke, did not find anything odd about his A is equal D but D is not equal to A while...etc etc at all strange. Still they decided to to inquire about his health, and without seeking anyones permission, entered the ICU, and heard the doctor still endlessly engaged in drawing equations. The doctor was too absorbed in his calculations and did not notice them. They came out after a few minutes, very saddened. One of them remarked to the other, You know what? Something unnatural is happening here. I think he is pregnant with quadruplets and is having difficulty identifying them in his stomach. No wonder only women are made mothers by Nature. Haaan yaar, said the other with a sympathetic resignation. When it comes to compassion and understanding, you just cant beat women. Meanwhile, the two sets of twins - one each of the friends - have mixed up with the quadruplets who are the children of the third woman. The last we heard was that the doctor was running around like the ninth identical infant with the other children, and the three women sit just outside the ground, knitting sweaters and watching the children - he doctor included . Occasionally, the doctor is seen a little unhappy, and picking up the ball and bringing it to women in a gesture of complaint with a request to intervene with other children to ensure fair play.
