THUS BEGINS MY F$#K IT LIST 1. There are times when I have fallen asleep on the sofa while reading, playing Scrabble with some of you, listening to music, or strategizing for work. The problem is that upon waking to the void of the wee hours it often hits me how time flies. How I no longer have anyone to care for in the immediate sense. No roommate, no husband, no young children, no dog. This leaves me feeling like I am free-falling through space. I loved being a mother because my existence was defined by my sons needs. There were no doubts about what should be done. Now he is grown and has moved to another state. This is an exciting time. I am happy for him. But when I wake up to the void of the wee hours I panic about money and bills and health insurance and house repairs and...my heart races. Then I think, Oh F$#K it! I just want to get a Winnebago and follow the map of whimsy driving through towns, states, countries, untethered. Well, actually untethered with only three tethers: an iPad and an iPhone, and a camera.
