TIBETAN DAWN took its name from the Tibetan National Flag, so we thought you would like to know a little more about the Tibetan Flag and what it represents. The yellow boarder of the flag represents the teachings of Buddha in all directions. In the centre is a mountain with snow lions, which represents Tibet. The 6 red bands are the original tribes called Se, Mu, Dong, Tong, Dru and Ra who were the ancestors of the Tibetan people and the blue bands are the sky. The sun shines in all directions signify the enjoyment of freedom, spiritual and material happiness along with prosperity of all beings in Tibet. On the mountain slopes stand a pair of snow lions which signify a spiritual and secular life. The glowing three coloured jewel represents the respect of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Where as the two coloured jewel represents the people guarding and cherishing self discipline by the practices of the ten exalted virtues and the 16 humane modes of conduct.
