TIDELINE AQUATICS IMPORTANT NOTICE: Hello everyone... by now we are guessing you have seen the weather forecast and unless things change drastically in the next 24 hours there is going to be trouble. Please note that this message is subject to change if the weather forecast changes. But for now Tideline Aquatics will be opening at 10am Tuesday morning. We will remain open until 12 or 1pm (later if weather permits) to allow you, our customers, to pick up any needed supplies prior to the ice/snow storm event. We have a limited number of battery operated air pumps in stock that will be available on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. Sorry but we cannot hold these - first come first serve only. With an ice storm, power outages are very likely and possibly for a long period of time. Battery pumps will certainly oxygenate aquarium water but keeping your aquatics warm will be your biggest challenge. Wrap your aquarium in heavy blankets, avoid feeding and keep the aquarium dark. Stores like Best Buy carry battery backup systems for computers that can be used for your bare necessity aquarium components (pumps and heaters). They are more expensive but consider your investment. As for your garden/koi ponds.... the water temperature will be extremely cold. This will work in your favor folks. The fish will be completely dormant and use very little oxygen so even without power pond fish will most likely be completely fine. Just dont let the surface of the water completely freeze over (doubtful this will even occur). We MAY be closed on Wednesday as well if the roads are iced over and traveling is dangerous.
