TL;DR incoming, whatever. Its not for you. Its just for me. Ill prolly delete it soon anyway, coz its not music-related. Got asked to protest in the city against Israel today. I looked into it as deeply as I could over the past month. Yeh, its hideous. But I still cant bring myself to protest. Media images shock me, but when media-desensitization kicks in, when the news-feeds just start to look like the meat counter in tescos, when everything everyone says starts to sound like Charlie Browns mum in Snoopy, and some sort of objectivity comes back, I just see something so futile, and also completely amoral from the position of Hamas compared to Israel. That level of real-world tech on deployment over there by |srael is unstoppable. Whats the point in *fighting* it at all, from any other perspective than that of *a suicidal person*? Its SUICIDE. The moral, social, and normative concept of SUICIDE within a society (according to Wittgenstein) is as follows, with only subtle breathing-room for medically-assisted-suicide after-the-fact for the most progressive society: *If suicide is allowed, then anything is allowed*. *If suicide is not allowed, then anything is not allowed*. Any society that permits its agents to commit suicide as an act of killing has removed the core loadstone on which all its social norma are dependent upon. The most amoral war crime committed in the name of any society any of us will ever see, will be someone killing themselves in order to kill other people. All moral discourse goes out-the-window when that is permitted and encouraged. Protest all you like. It wont do anything. All thats worth doing is making it considerably more expensive for Israel to finish what they started, so they really get to feel some sort of exceptionally privileged cost for using our precious resources and tech in such a disgusting way. No protest march is gonna make that happen. You just make a mess that someone has to pay for to be cleared up. Itll happen on the trading desks if it happens anywhere. Personally, I just cant bring myself to be aligned with a society that permits and encourages the *suicide bomber*. Sorry. Doesnt mean I dont care and dont feel terrible about the Israeli use of technology, but I cant support that shit. No way. Until it comes to my doorstep, and i can feel the eyes of hatred in my back when i walk through our predominantly Muslim E3 neighborhood and those eyes have a burning Star Of David in them, there will be no on-my-feet protest from me.
