TNA MP spends a night in cell for beating a female police officer and may now face MORE JAIL TIME Bahati MP, Kimani Ngunjiri, on Friday spent a night in a cell for assaulting a female police officer in Nakuru Town. Kimani had earlier been at Nakuru Court facing six counts of charges related to the Thursday incident. In the first set of three counts, the MP denied obstructing the officer while in her due execution of police duties on August 15. The MP also denied resisting arrest contrary to section 103 (a) of the National Police Service Act 2011.Other charges include three traffic offences including failing to observe traffic rules, failure to observe verbal instructions by the said officer and driving a defective motor vehicle. Kimani denied all the counts Nakuru Resident Magistrate, Rita Amwayi, remanded the MP in police custody for a day after the prosecution said the investigation had not been completed.
