TO: HON. MARTHA WANGARI KARUA, Dear Madam, Congratulations for recovering from your political comma after the badly sustained injuries from landslide failure during the last general elections. I was afraid you could pass on but now am relieved you are back to life though your speech on Wednesday portrayed that you have not fully recovered. Thanks also for identifying the other victims of the accident who still suffer the same injuries that you suffered. They recovered a bit earlier than you but still have a remaining bit like the one you also have. At least that makes you to be “birds of the same feathers”. I seriously considered your joining them a good move- since you are” first loser”, at least you need a “perennial loser” to train you on how to cope with the subsequent loses ahead. Madam, you woke and found them singing a song they compiled when you were in comma and joined the choir-the only mistake you made is that you didn’t bother to find out the essence of the song and the first stanzas they had already sang. To brief you, the song is a remix of another named “national dialogue” that sold “below average” copies. They decided to change the name to “national referendum” but the tune and wording is the same. Immediately you went into a comma, one of your competitors won the game. I know you were shocked moment after recovering when you heard him say “I am in charge”. I would have reacted the same if it were me. But you and me should know that it is not a phantasm, neither is it a hideous dream- it is the reality! Now, on the referendum issue, is it because those” in charge” said they are in charge instead of waiting for us to tell them? If that is the problem then, can I suggest the referendum question to appear this way: “is UhuRuto in order to say they are in charge instead of waiting for us to tell them?” answer “yes” or “no” . This to me will be of no help. We as well need a referendum- the only difference being that we are not reading our issues from the same script. When you want us to increase allocation to counties, us we need county chiefs to account for the little we had given them. And they are not ready to do that-ask my friend William. When you talk of electoral laws, (I understand as they are now, they don’t allow a” loser” to be the “winner), us we talk of laws to grow our much tattered economy. When you talk of land reforms, (to define those who are expressly allowed to steal public land) we talk of teaching a lesson to the ones we have already caught. Lastly, madam, do you really have plans to run again for an elective position? If so, talk to Gichugu people first! As your memory come back to you, kindly find the statistics of the last general elections and compare your marks with those of the Gichugu current M.P. You might learn a lesson.
