TO KNOW YOU ARE LOVED. TO LOVE AS YOU OUGHT. THAT GOD IS LOVE. These are the questions I get to three basic questions I ask. I ask these when describing the three simple yet profound aims of the New Evangelization Outreach Project called Remember You Are Loved™/Eres Amado™/Você É Amado™ which I launched 7.5 months ago at WYD/World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The questions are: What is a human beings greatest need? What is human beings greatest duty toward neighbor – and a commandment for Christians? What is Gods greatest attribute – though it is more than an attribute, it is his very essence? Inevitably, people respond: TO KNOW YOU ARE LOVED. TO LOVE AS YOU OUGHT. THAT GOD IS LOVE. Several people did so again tonight before being LOVED at the Church of the Holy Spirit Lenten Parish Mission in San Antonio on the third and last day of our Lenten Parish Mission. And they welcome the aims of this Love Outreach and the New Evangelization Love Outreach items we have developed so far. They acquire them for themselves and their families and friends and coworkers and classmates and teammates… and the list of people whom they wish to reach out to goes on and on. Heres one example among many: María was love messaged yesterday and was seen wearing the wristband The Evening After, as were several others, including Lamar, Norma, Pat… – because people all over the city and the country and outside of the U.S. truly love wearing our LoveStrong™ wristbands and t-shirts (available in three languages, two colors, and two sizes at the moment.) María told me tonight that is getting wristbands for her 30 or so ladies tackle football teammates as they mourn a great loss: someone close to them committed suicide. This is one story among many of how people are reaching out to others with the love they have received. Theres no telling how much impact we can have inside and outside the church! Tonight, my fellow Love Messenger Pat, love messaged Bob... and Luis... and Mary... and several more people, including James from A&M at College Station... who in turn love messaged Michelle. I love messaged three of the Apostles of the Interior Life: Sr. Debbie, Sr. Celestina, and St. Elena. I also love messaged Lora Matlock from St. Matthews ... and Martha Gonzalez from St. Margaret Marys... and Peter and Monica Northrop from St. Anastasia Byzantine... and Monica love messaged their sister Mariana... who love messaged Monica right back! Its fun. Its meaningful. Its a great first step. Its full of potential and real outreach possibilities, several of which we have begun to develop and implement in various States – with much more to come.
