Pour olive oil from the flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled’ 2 Kings 4:4 The closet principle simply states that multiplication occurs in the dark. Children grow while sleeping. Plants grow roots underground. Even reproduction takes place in the dark. ‘Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled”. Shut the door behind you! Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is like a house, you mouth is a door – shut it! Keep your mouth shut. For some of us in our professions or in our careers, God has shown you an opportunity for promotion but you open your mouth and blab about it. You will attract unnecessary battles and unnecessary warfare. And sometimes the door actually shuts. For some of us, it is a business idea or how to take our business to the next level that God has given to us. My advice- keep your mouth shut. Don’t talk about it. Keep quiet and brood on it. Let the Holy Spirit ruminate and brood on it. For a lot of people, they have an idea from God and they talk to this person, that person, and another person. The reality is that the more you talk, the more you dissipate the spiritual energy required to birth that idea. Elisha did not tell the widow to explain to her neighbors and friends why she needed the vessels. The only two people he asked her to involve were her sons. Sometimes, even the people in the inner circle don’t need to know the details of what God is about to birth until He births it. Even Jesus did not first sit and discuss what was about to happen with Peter, James, and John [Read Mark 9:2-13]. So you will discover that you talk and talk about the idea but you never are able to bring it to pass. Then six to eight months down the line you see someone else who has birthed that same idea. And you say that was my idea. Has this happened to you before? Today you will go higher in Jesus Name. I do not mean any disrespect but please keep your mouth shut! It will burn in you like fire, I know – I know that feeling. And all you can think about is talking to someone about it. Take my advice – keep quiet! Prayer: Holy Spirit, teach me when to talk and when to shut up, in Jesus Name.
