TODAY is the “Dropping of the Writ” for New Brunswick’s 38th provincial election (Monday 22 September): cbc.ca/news/canada/writ-drop-marks-campaign-s-official-kickoff-1.989623 Voters FIRED the previous (Liberal) government after only one 4-year term -- a historic first since confederation. The current (Conservative) government FAILED to learn that lesson. RESULT: voters are in charge on 22 September. FORGET the status quo. It is starving us too many ways to name here. There is no trickLe down economic effect of more jobs. There never has been for far too long. NO. no trickling or dripping sound can be heard. All that is audible is a frightening sucking sound of our tax dollars going into mysterious, private and offshore accounts. It is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that those who have never voted before be engaged. The same applies to those who have become discouraged and have given up voting. Our job is to get as many as possible of both groups out to vote. DEMOCRACY is heavy lifting. The future depends on us -- that we lift all we can. I DECLARE my support for several candidates: 1) Wayne Dryer (GREEN PARTY for Saint John Harbour). Wayne is my good friend and a person of admirable conscience, integrity and courage. I offered to round up volunteers for his campaign in 2010 under the orange colour of the NDP. He fell only 126 votes as a tie for first place in a five-way contest. I have already DECLARED for 2) Charles Theriault (INDEPENDENT, Restigouch West. Charles has communicated his passion, integrity, courage and Our DOMINANT voting strategy of giving the “Liberals” and then the “Progressives” a turn at the helm has failed us miserably for generations. That practice DRAINED the public purse of tax dollars. It has put us into deep debt. Our province is nearly bankrupt and almost entirely in a democratic DEFICIT. ~~ Because the three non-elected parties have FAILED to develop a co-operative voting strategy, citizens are going to have to be more sophisticated than partisan constitutional bunds and party leadership can manage. We are going to have to: 1) VOTE in our riding for the most likely candidate – other than Neo-Liberal or Non-Progressive Conservative to shake off the chains with which their corporate masters have shackled those two parties for too long; 2) OFFER moral support to such candidates in neighbouring, or any other ridings, where it appears we can accomplish the same objective – to drive an effective wedge of third option candidates between the battling ruling parties that will result in a minority government. Only that first step will accomplish the truer nature of democracy, and/or 3) SEND financial or support in kind to such candidates in any of the ridings. At New Brunswick is NOT for sale we need to examine all the news, polls and other information that indicates who those candidates are. As above, I support ALL LEADERS OF THE THIRD PARTIES: Dominic Cardy, David Coon and Kris Austin in their ridings. I ASK the supporters of those parties in facebook New Brunswick is NOT for sale, and our sisters in the social media networks calling for CHANGE, to give us the latest information to help us accomplish our purpose. Thank you, Greg
