TODAYS MEDITATION - God will deal with those who harm you (Obadiah 1:15) The book of Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament, yet it presents the dramatic example of Gods response to anyone who harms His children. My brother, my sister, do you sometimes react when people harm you out of indifference, defiance to God or even for reasons you dont know? These days we have seen and heard the news of Christians being beheaded... and that makes us react in different ways (anger, rebellion, etc.). Today, Gods holy nation is His church, in other words all who have trusted in Christ for their salvation and have given their lives to Him. You see, since you have become Gods born-again and adopted child, you are covered by His love and protection, for you are no longer a wandering child like those who dont have Christ. Therefore know that just like any parent would stand up to defend their natural child, the Lord stands up against anyone who attacks those whom He loves. It is not because we dont see it immediately that it is not happening. Yes, my friend, God is morally perfect and He demands complete justice and fairness, especially for those who love Him. Therefore those who defy Him by touching His children will meet their doom as Edom did. Edoms punishment was clearly pronounced not out of vengeance, but in order to bring about justice. Yes, as a Christian, keep the confidence that God will judge and fiercely punish all who harm you one day... So, set your eyes on Christ and keep walking a life that pleases Him... todays verse says: the day of the Lord is near... : you will soon watch your Lord victory over your oppressors! Stay blessed in Jesus name.
