TODAY’S FRESH BREAD (IMPOSSIBLE) Romans 6:2 God forbid. How - TopicsExpress

TODAY’S FRESH BREAD (IMPOSSIBLE) Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? I just felt like bringing up something that I wrote some time back when we were studying the book of Romans 6. I believe its not disturbing to share it one more time. Paul decides to answer this objection raised by his accusers; ‘SHALL WE SIN SO THAT GRACE WILL INCREASE?’ In this verse, Paul begins to answer this question he was asked. His first answer was, ‘GOD FORBID’. In the Greek tongue, the expression ‘GOD FORBID’ means ‘Let it not be/by no means/far from it/let not such a thing be mentioned’. It is a strong expression of surprise and disapprobation. Paul was surprised that people will think such a thing. This is because by revelation and by experience, he has come to know the transforming power in the total acceptance of the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. To him, it is by no means possible for a person to walk or grow in Grace and still see Grace as the license or opportunity to sin. The Law stirs up the flesh and produces the works of the flesh/dead works (Galatians 5:16-21). The more you seek to live under obedience to the Law, you put yourself under the burden of the Law. By the Law is no man justified (made righteous) before God (Romans 3:20). Sin takes advantage of the Law and increases (Romans 7:11). Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law in our place by total obedience (Matthew 5:17,18) and took it away by nailing it to the cross (Colossians 2:14) so that we will not be under the burden of the Law stirring up the flesh in us. The Grace of God stirs up the Spirit in us. Grace brings us a new identity (2Corinthians 5:17). Jesus Christ is our real identity when we receive His Grace. God sees us in Christ Jesus and sees Christ Jesus in us. Grace makes the perfect righteousness of Christ alive in us and manifested through us. Grace is freedom from the Law and sin…. Good Morning
