TODAY’S WORD: 7th March, 2014 I Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now ifthou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? Paul in our text says …what hast thou that thou didst not receive? The wise man Solomon sharing his experience too in Ecclesiastes 9:11 says …I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but TIME AND CHANCE happeneth to them all. That job you are doing now, I want to tell you that you may not have been the best candidate for it; It was God’s favour that gave it to you. The position you are occupying is equally by grace and favour all from God. It’s time and chance. Zechariah 4:6; Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. If you know that all you have is not by your power, why then do you puff-up as if you didn’t receive it? Why do you glory in your ability and intellect as if you did not receive these things? Jeremiah 9:23-24;Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Pray with me: Father I thank you for all you have bestowed upon me, instill in my heart the grace to always recognize you as the giver in Jesus name.
