TOP TEN PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM THAT RELY ON HOME FORM.. Since the start of the 2011/12 season, these ten current Premier League sides feel home advantage more than anyone else. In other words, the gap between their average points tally during home and away matches is bigger than the rest of the league. This could say in equal measure how good their home form is, and how bad they are on the road! 10) Swansea City - 0.49. more points home than away Since winning promotion to the top flight, Swansea have insisted on a passing brand of football that has seen them win over many neutrals. Naturally, this is more effective at their own stadium, and this season, theyve only picked up three wins on the road. 9) Hull City - 0.57 more points home than away Its normal that newly promoted sides have a much better chance of picking up points at their own stadiums than on the road. Hull currently sit five points above the drop zone, knowing theyll need to pick up at least two wins to ensure they dont get dragged into a relegation battle. 8) Chelsea - 0.68 more points home than away Chelsea are relentlessly good at Stamford Bridge, especially now Jose Mourinho has taken charge. The Portuguese boss has never lost a league match as Chelsea manager at home, and this season, his side have won 12 and drawn two from 14. 7) West Ham - 0.7 more points home than away West Hams bullying physical style is more intimidating and harder to deal with when they have their own crowd behind them. This season though theyve been surprisingly poor at Upton Park, picking up only five more points than they have on the road. Last season though, following promotion from the Championship, their home form was excellent. 6) Norwich - 0.71 more points home than away If the table this term was based on home form alone, the Canaries would sit comfortably in 9th. As it is, theyre down in 15th and face a relegation dog flight to stay in the top flight. 5) Crystal Palace - 0.79 more points home than away Palace are dreadful on the road, and have only scored six goals away from home all season! Their chances of staying up will seemingly rely solely on their ability to pick up as many home wins as possible. 4) Cardiff City - 0.84 more points home than away Its Cardiffs first season in the top flight, and theyve been pretty awful on the road, picking up only six points. Thankfully for their supporters, they still have a small chance of staying up because theyve collected 19 points at home. 3) Everton - 0.88 more points home than away Goodison Park was a tricky place to go for anyone to go under David Moyes historically, and its been equally difficult under Roberto Martinez. In 14 matches at home this year, his side have won 10, and only lost once. 2) Stoke City - 0.89 more points home than away The phrase, Cold Tuesday night at the Britannia is synonymous when discussing difficult away grounds, and these stats seem to back it up. The Potters are horrible to face when theyre at home, and only five sides in the top flight have a better home record this season. 1) Manchester City - 0.96 more points home than away City are pretty good away from home, but theyre ruthless at the Etihad. This term, theyve battered Manchester United 4-1, Arsenal 6-3 and Tottenham 6-0 at home! Away from home though theyve slipped up away to Cardiff and Aston Villa.
