TORRECAMPO opened his account in terrific style with a barnstorming run when taking out the $35,000 Maiden 1400m today under a great ride from Jackson The Master Low. Jackson is on fire and has now won 4 from only 7 rides in Singapore. Due to some waywardness of the horse in the straight and a protest thrown in by the runner up, connections had an agonising wait until the protest was dismissed and the champagne flowed. The first up win is due to the fantastic training skills of Bruce Marsh and his team and the horse was duly bet down to start at $19. Later in the day, TAFFETAS put in a courageous effort to be narrowly beaten in the Class 3 1400m race but a good day nonetheless.
