“TRADITIONS ABOUT THE MEHDI” ***************************************** The doctrine of the advent of the MEHDI,before the end of time,and his role in the revival and restoration of the religion of Islam to its original form,as established by Prophet Mohammed(PBUH),is considered to be a compulsory tent of Islam,as per the indicationsgiven in the Quran,and in the light of Ahadith-e-Mutwatira(continuously repeated”TRADITIONS”).According to the guidelines set for checking the authenticity of the Traditions,a continuously repeated cannot be denied,and has to be accepted as(SAHIHA)authentic.Accordingly ,the repeated traditions regarding the advent of the Promised Mehdi before the day of Judgement(between Hazrat Mohammed.saw.and Hazrat Eisa.ahs.)are essential elements of faith in Islam. (1)Abdullah Ibne Masood.raz.says,”the Prophet(PBUH)has stated that even if one day is left in the life of the world,Allah will prolong that day,until a person from my dynasty appears,whose name will be like my name,whose father’s name will be like my father’s name.He will fill the world with justice and equity,when it had been filled with justice and inequity.He will distribute wealth in equal terms.He will enrich the hearts of Muslims.They will be immensely happy with the justice of the Mehdi.ahs.He will remain among you for seven(7)or nine(9)years”.{Al Mehdi Al Maud.Page:-16-17}. (2)Hazrat Ibne Masood.raz.says,”the Prpphet(PBUH)said that the world will not come to an end unless and until Allah send a person from my Ahle Baith(family),whose name will be like my name,and his father’s name will be like my father’s name.”{Tabrani}. (3)Hazrat Abu Sayeed Al Khadri.raz.says,”the Prophet(PBUH)said that the Mehdi will be from my family(Ahle Baith).He will have a shining forehead and an aquiline nose.He will fill the world with justice,when it has been filled with injustice,he will be its Master for seven(7)Years.”{Sunan Abu Dawood}. (4)Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbas.raz.says,”The Prophet(PBUH)said My Ummat will never perish,because I am in the beginning,Eisa Ibne Maryam at the end and the Mehdi in its middle.”{Masnad Imam Ahmed Bin Hanmbal}. (5)Hazrat Soban.raz.says,”The Prophet(PBUH)said when you come to hear the appearance of the Mehdi,go to him and submit your self as his disciple,even if you have to trek over the ice,since the Mehdi is a”Caliph of Allah(Viiceroy of Allah).”{Hakim and Abu Nayeem,Ibne Maja,Dalailul Nabuwat}. (6)Prophet Mohammed(PBUH)said,”That Mehdi will be from my Ahle Baith(family)and he will follow my foot prints and will never err.”{Al Mehdi Al Maud.Page:-27}. (7)Hazrat Aouf.raz.says,”The Prophet(PBUH)said,Aouf,if a person from my Ahle Baith(family)appears and claims to be the Mehdi,join him,follow him and be among the blessed.”{Al Mehdi Al Maud.Page:-27}. (8)Hazrat Ali.raz.says,”I asked Rasoolullah(PBUH)whether the Mehdi,will be from us,or from others.Hazrat Mohammed(PBUH)said,No,he will be from us,our descendent.Allah will have him conclude the religion,as it was commenced by us.”{Aqadud Darar}. (9)Hazrat Ali.raz.says,”The Prophet(PBUH)said,The Mehdi will not leave any Biddat(innovation)without finishing it,and will not leave any Sunnat(Practice of the Prophet)without establishing it.”{Aqadud Darar}. (10)Hazrat Abu Hurairah.raz.says,”The Prophet(PBUH)said,Baiyat(homage/fealty)will be taken by the Mehdi,between RUKN-E-YAMANI and MAQAM-E-IBRAHIM.”{Nayeem Bin Hamid,in Kitabul Jatan}.
