TRAINING TO FIX FRIDGES AND WASHERS. I decided to take on a job - TopicsExpress

TRAINING TO FIX FRIDGES AND WASHERS. I decided to take on a job to get trained for fridge and washing machine repairs. Bob Hall didn’t have anything, so I applied with Gary and Stan in West End. They gave me a training job for the child’s wage of forty dollars per week because a boy, namely Little George had resigned and they needed a kid but since I accepted the salary, they gave me the job, it was enough to supplement my pension and it cost them nothing because it was paid by the government. They had a contract where they must pay a minimum wage of forty dollars a week to either a kid or a pensioner to train on the job. Since I gave up the truck, things became bit easier with living for me. I hid my Bankcard in a suitcase on top of the wardrobe so I won’t use it. I was interested in paying off the credit that would take several years to pay off and I had to live on the poor side while doing it at that. No traveling but paying the credit off. While I had the car before, I also sold the old single bed and mattress that Mr Harris gave me at the Auction sale. Anything I didn’t need had to either be sold for scrap or in the auctions, or put on the sidewalk for the rubbish collections, otherwise it could be donated to the Life Line. I did learn to repair mainly automatic wash machines and semiautomatics. Gary one time couldn’t bog up a leak in a tub of an ordinary wash machine. After trying five times and water was still leaking from the bottom, he said to me, have a go and see if you can do it, I give up. I took the bogging and fixed it up the first go, so how’s that for a beginner? and I never did such a thing in my life before. I’m like that, it’s funny but true, like the Prefect before I ever drove a car alone. I also learned to fix twin tub washers, the main problem there is, when it stops running it usually means that the belt has slipped or broken. To buy a new one is as simple as going to your nearest garrage and get a car engine belt because they are the same.
