[TRANS @mug_ping] Tohoshinkis interview with Japanese music site Mora 140611 - Part 1 Q: Honestly, what were your feelings when the album was completed? Changmin: Compared to the previous time, the album this time around recorded the raw vivid voices of Tohoshinki. Personally, I feel that the number of dance songs is lesser than that of Time, and this may be perhaps also be because there are many songs which recorded both our voices naturally just like that. Yunho: When we were gathering the tracks for the album, I felt, This album will have a high level of completeness. It is the first time I am thinking this way. I also think that the sequence of the songs is really very good. Q: What kind of mindset did you carry with you when you were doing the recording? Yunho: In truth, in the midst of producing the album, I caught a cold. At that time, the recording was not postponed due to my cold, but we used that instead and I decided to attempt a new husky voice. Q: What are those songs which were like that? Yunho: Tree of Life is like that. Also, Hide & Seek is also like that. Thanks to my cold (laughs). Because there was an even more pronounced rock feel coming out, it turned out great instead. Also, in the past, both of us used the vocalization methods we have been using originally, but this time around, we also changed our tone a little to match the songs so I think that a new side appeared eventually. Changmin: What I was the most concerned about was looking after my voice. This time around, the schedule of recording was really a hard one. Q: You said that this album was being produced at the same time as your Korean album Tense? Yunho: Yes. In one studio, we would be working on the Korean album, and after that has ended, we would move to the adjacent studio to work on the Japanese album, and then after that has ended, we would again move back to the neighbouring studio... It went on like that. Q: During such busy times, what do you do to have a change of mood? Please let us know if you had any methods to alleviate your mood during the recording process. Yunho: I dont have any special methods, if we record once, I will rest for about an hour for every 30 minutes of recording, and eat my meals, yep. But if we start recording again after joking around a little with the staff or playing around with them, the recording goes well. It seemed like stress had probably built up subconsciously. After we record a few songs simultaneously, no matter what, our heads cant function, so after alleviating the stress that way, the recording goes on smoothly. Q: But while recording, what food did you guys have? Yunho: Its the same every time. We order and eat Korean food. Q: Food which you like? Yunho: I like meat and fried vegetables. I eat that well and while chit chatting about trivial stuff with everybody, I recover my energy and do the recording. Q: What about Changmin-ssi? Do you relieve stress through the beer which you like? (laughs) Changmin: No, no. Because my schedule was really tight, there was really no way I could have drunk that. Q: During the creation of the album, you couldnt even drink one cup? Changmin: No, that cant be. Of course I drank (laughs). But even so, because I know that I will be busy the next day too, there is no way I could get drunk. So in any case, I will focus on elevating my level of concentration and take care of my voice and got immersed in recording. Q: The album starts with a sweet love song I Love You as the introduction. Changmin: That is a song which contains both our genuine and honest hearts towards our fans. The song also does not use any fake or luxurious (over-the-top) technique and we sang it in a simple way as if we were conveying our hearts. Yunho: When singing this song, what came to my mind are the fan lights in the concert venues. Although I am also the type who hardly uses falsetto, I sang using falsetto this time around because I wanted to convey I love you, the gratitude to the fans, with a sweet voice. Q: 愛をもっと is also a cool love song. This song ended by allowing the listener to feel the emotions of the song. Changmin: This is a song which I personally like too, to the extent that I feel that it is a pity to release it only as a song recorded in the album (as opposed to individually). I focused really hard and sang it with a lot of emotion/ Q: The key for this song is lower compared to usual. Changmin: It is also good to occasionally sing in a lower tone. I am thankful (to the director) because singing is easy if the key is low (laughs). Yunho: I am also thankful (laughs). For me too, I usually have a high key. Tohoshinkis songs have generally high keys, but because this song has a low tone (I am thankful). It seems like it will be great if men sing this song to the ladies they like. The melody is also beautiful. I originally sang this song with a proposal type of feel. original article - bit.ly/1sl6aYl + Jap-Kor credit to TVXQdrip - bit.ly/1orlRL3
