TRUE LOVE, VICTORIAS SECRET AND CRISTIANO RONALDOS DENTIST The afternoon began like any other, soundcheck before my performance, meeting the groom and getting ready to play. The guests poured in, a particularly attractive bunch and took their seats for the ensuing Balinese ceremony. I played two sets and one aisle song chosen by the couple and ended with Taqsim, a particularly passionate high energy piece I wrote a while ago that resulted in everyone dancing and uproarious applause. Then...I was invited to stay and join for dinner. Conversation took some interesting turns. I met a man who was the MC for the night. I saw him as an older, more developed version of myself. We had a lot in common except that he was much further along in his evolution and had chosen to pursue different crafts, 2 Masters Degrees and mid PHD. Tall, perhaps 6.4, model good looks and a childlike recklessness and excitement that few people exhibit with discernibly fierce intelligence hiding behind the deliberate veneer of stupidity. He spoke to me as if the universe had pulled our meeting into place, as if I was there not to play at this wedding but rather to meet its guests. He looked at me and said I read people like you read ingredients on a sugar packet and you *pause* are extraordinary. You are further along than even you realize you are. I meet so many people and you, youve got what it takes Big words and huge compliments ,especially from such a man. He burned his words into me through his eyes. He then told me exactly what my next steps would be and how the MTM Superhero Factory Bali was going to be a global success. This man it turned out was one of worlds if not THE worlds best cosmetic dentists, in fact he was the dentist of famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal and who was in his company? Victorias Secret supermodels of course, who had flown from NYC to be present at this wedding. Miguel went from acting totally vulgar and silly to picking up the microphone and performing the most eloquent and articulate speech, complete with alliteration, dramatic pauses and everything; a complete switch of character. I looked at him and asked, Adlib? He said, Of course. You prepare when youre a kid, you deliver when you are a man. What an evening. Then I experienced a first dance that nearly moved me to tears. There was such an intensity of contentment and adoration from both parties that it was palpable from across the room. I found myself sighing and breathing more deeply. True love exists. I saw it and felt it through the embrace of others. What an evening. What extraordinary people. Its these chance encounters and the acute sense that circumstances are aligning that lead me to believe I am well on a path beyond my own device.
